How to Practice Day Trading With Real Money (Start Smart!)

3 жыл бұрынI want to show you how to practice day trading with real money! A huge part of becoming a successful day trader and making money consistently is practice. I know that sounds like an obvious statement; however, I've been guiding day traders since 2013 and I can say with full confidence that most beginner day traders have no idea how to start smart when it comes to practicing. Learning how to day trade stocks in a simulator or demo account does have value, but when you transition to real money, being a day trader is much more challenging. When real money enters into the picture, your emotions will come alive and begin playing multiple mind games with you. Because of these, you need to be smart in how you get started day trading with your hard earned money and that's what I will show you in this video, with some real life proof and a live demonstration. Hey Clay! Nice video! What about your your R:R? How can you manage that? For example, in this case if you lost, you would’ve lost $50 and only won $16, a little too risky, no?

I'm still kind of confused on the limit order kind of thing. When I have a limit order of 500 shares at 7.50 and the current market price at that moment is 7.45, will I get filled at 7.50 or 7.45

You'll get filled at the "best price available", but the "limit' would be $7.50 at most.

So when you are scaling down and selling off the shares... doesn’t that count as day trades bud? With newer or smaller accounts we only get 3 in 5 days. Which I know you are fully aware of. I’m just super curious at that technique.

Damn when you said if it moved $2 quickly and you have $50 as your No. then you should only have 2 shares I was like oh no what if my No. is $20 😂😂

When you say 50 its 50 shares not 50$ because the price of 1 share is more or less 60€ in the video, so you actually trade with 50*60$=3000$ ? Or am i wrong ?? ( Trying to understand # beginner)

well, make sure you have 25k$$ to do this, or else your broker will let you know about the PDT rule. If you trade outside the US they charge by the trade (2.60$) so that's a total of 5.20$ round trip. you need to make more than 2$ per trade. try 10$. best of luck

I caught the error. But I knew what you were throwing down. I started this a week ago and have been green daily. I realized I would get shaken out when letting the trade play out. So I dropped to 25 shares of tsla at a time and catching the $3-$4 moves. Its been fantastic. I dont need the home runs daily. The small gains add up and build my confidence. I can always increase share size as time goes on. Its a marathon, not a sprint.

@Big Ballah I agree, but I was using 100 shares and the small half second spikes would scare me if it continued. Now, with 25 shares, im okay if it's a losing trade. It basically slows down the fast pace stocks and I dont get nervous if it doesn't behave how I see it.

Just for beginners out there, make sure you don't do exactly this with high commissions. You'll loose a lot more than 50 just on commissions alone lol. When practicing with real money, make sure you find an affordable broker (1c a share is a good place to start).
