that's true, but Deirdre married Ken when Peter was pretty young, and she became close to both him and his twin sister Susan, who died in the 90s. So Tracy and Deirdre became a sister and mother to him, and so Simon has grown up with Deirdre as his grandma and Blanche as his great-granny. Biology doesn't matter to them, they're family regardless.
