I am binge watching your videos since I discovered your channel a couple of weeks ago. As a consequence, I got rid of random junk, decluttered my kids' toys, junk drawer, bathroom, kitchen, organized our cabinets, shredded old paper clutter. Now it takes me less than an hour to clean my whole apartment, and my laundry is done daily. Thank you!

We don't have pantries in the UK either. Having stocked up massively a few years ago, I spent a year eating out of date food, never again. Now my one food cupboard is half empty, mainly eating meat, cheese and eggs so there's zero waste now. Feels freeing to not have to manage stored food.

in Philippines, pantry is not a typical part of the house. most household lives in a community where you can easily buy what you need. and we call it sari-sari store. it’s a small grocery that allows you to buy a small portion of your needs at home.

I watched you empty the dishwasher, with things going right to their designated spot, no need to move anything or to interrupt the flow. That's what decluttering is for. I am getting there too & it does feel good!

I'm in Western PA United States. My pantry is literally the broom closet. I moved the broom and dust pan outside my back door and added 5 shelves to the closet. We don't eat a lot of processed food or snacks so my pantry is mostly baking supplies and spices. Odd things like bread crumbs and pasta. Then I have a section devoted to my canning supplies. I'm noticing the trend of the larger the pantry the more it's filled with processed food and snacks.

I live in Canada. I'm 62 years old and have lived in several places in Canada and the US. I've never lived in a place with a pantry. I think the need for a pantry has to do with the rise of snack foods. My parents never bought them, I never bought them for my kids, and we don't buy them for ourselves.

People used to can foods, such as what they harvested from their garden, jams, vegetables, pickles, etc to preserve them. Additionally, they needed a place to store root vegetables. Also, dried foods, and whatever else to help make it thru the winter. These days there are way more processed foods, but there have traditionally been places needed to have food on standby.

I live in the south and me and my husband decided to renovate a strange room extended from our living room into another room, this room was similar to a den but we already had a den with a built in fireplace so we decided to add to the wall and close it off. This room was weird, I’m not sure what it was originally meant for but it had a cut out walk away, about two standard size doors wide, and a door off to the back of the room that connected to the dining room and kitchen. My home is an open concept with the exception of this room. We closed it off and added a door to the frame that was already there so we use it as an extension to the kitchen as food storage, a deep freezer, extra appliances, extra kitchen supplies, extra paper towels, cat food/dog food; things like that. I call it my pantry but it is definitely a bedroom sized room but with no closet inside. I for sure know this room is unique but it’s is so useful as we do not have a garage or a basement or attic so the extra storage is necessary and with it being inside the house and just another room, it’s safe for food of all kinds and we store everything on ikea Billy shelves, I have about four of them for food items, and one for tupperware and kids travel cups and lunch boxes.

Someone in my family had serious cholesterol issues (alongside type 2 diabetes & other stuff which tend to follow sadly), to the point of taking a lot of medication. Problem was, the side effects of medications were so bad, his organs were in really bad shape. So alongside a progressive change in diet to no more processed anything basically & healthy meals, we tried organic supplements. For cholesterol, we used red rice yeast. It is scientifically proven to work on that. After 6 months he was doing a lot better et since a year later, he has had an under the limits cholesterol, with no medication. He keeps taking the red rice yeast & doesn't eat fatty food. I hesitated to write this because I know that the supplements are not regulated in the US & there is a lot of sometimes very dangerous snake oil sold. I live in France, where I can buy highly regulated organic supplements. Plant based supplements are not miracle workers. They require a change in habits, the right dosage & time to work, & for some things like diabetes, there is still no good enough alternative to modern medicine. EDIT Just got to the part where you mention being a big cheese family. You need to switch to low cholesterol, less processed cheeses.

Living in the states, the house that I grew up in didn't have a pantry. We had shelves on the walls leading down into the basement that we used as the pantry, and we put a small cabinet against the wall in the hallway going into the kitchen. We moved to another house without a pantry, but it had a breakfast nook that we used as a pantry because it was way too small for a breakfast nook. We moved out of state a few years ago, into an apartment with a long narrow pantry next to the fridge, and we hated it because you couldn't reach the items in the back, so we turned the closet into a pantry with a plastic shelving unit. At the beginning of COVID lockdown, we moved into a house with a pantry that's nothing more than a glorified cabinet with wire shelves, and we hate it because it's small. We bought some more cabinetry to line the bare wal to use as a pantry. Right now there's a huge baker's rack that we use for extra storage.

Have you tried a fish oil supplement? I worked with a naturopathic doctor for my son and they recommended Barlean’s fish oil, which is like a fruity smoothie. You take a spoonful or you can mix it in something. I would say it has a small tinge of fish taste but I think it tastes good and it’s a small amount to take. I’ve also tried fish oil gummies and they were too fishy!

On the topic of Cholesterol , which is highly controversial (warning) .... we chucked out ALL our seed oils(vegetable oil) , avocado oils, olive oils, coconut oils and started cooking with JUST lard (pig fat) and tallow (Beef fat) bloating stopped, Cholesterol went down, blood pressure went normal - check your labels on all foods, including bottles/sauces and see how much vegetable oil is in everything...we as humans cannot process oils pressed from seeds....you'd think the lard and tallow will clog your arteries, however it doesn't as the body can process it, do some research, you'd be surprised. as for your Pantry, im outside the US, homes were larger up until the 90's and all had big pantries, walk in and other - these days they are building these small garage size match box apartments and pantries are not an option anymore, so you only see them in older homes. Rinsing your dishes are just fine, else your dishwasher smells more and catches things like spaghetti, veggies etc which is disgusting to clean by hand- even though the instructions state "give your dishwasher some dirt to wash" so no judgement there. I think we all have a catch-all area somewhere in our home, for me its a deep drawer - shh, dont tell anyone. Your home looks great - great job - keep it up!

I need to do a ”pantry” declutter as well, it’s mostly throwing out everything we won’t use. We do prioritize making sure we eat the fruit, vegetables and meat, as you mentioned.

Our pantry is non-existent; I have used the linen closet, or a bookcase in a spare room. Neither are ideal so have been watching and gaining inspiration from your channel about cupboard organizing. Of course, I'm in a 90 year old house in Virginia and it's quite small and they didn't use storage then the way we do now, so it' isn't any wonder that there isn't space.

Before I set out the trash cans I just run quickly through my fridge and get rid of anything that I won't be eating or has gone bad. I also include a leftover night and a "random" meal night on my weekly meal plan so that helps to address leftovers and random ingredients

I’m in the Midwest and we have a pantry that’s about the size of a linen closet. The bottom half has our garbage cans though so the whole thing isn’t used for food. My parents use a coat closet off of their kitchen as their panty, and my in laws have a large walk in pantry about the size of a powder room. They have a larger house though

I live in Germany. Homes here generally have no built in storage at all so pantries are rare and usually smaller than yours. Kitchens here are tiny compared to those in the US. My pantry is one tallish (5 ft. high, 1.5 ft. wide, 1.5 ft. deep) cupboard in my kitchen with pull-out shelves.

Live in Florida, and neither of my 2 homes had a pantry until I remodeled the kitchen and had small pantries added in both homes. My current home (a townhome at 1500 sq ft) is larger than my old home (840 sq ft), but the kitchen is half the size and is a 'U' shape. In both homes, I took space from the dining room for the pantry. In my current home, I could have put in a larger pantry, but I had to put in a storage closet for brooms, mops, and cleaning supplies. Who builds a home with zero storage space for a vacuum, mop, broom. There is no closet downstairs. I have almost double the square footage, but there is no storage. The vacuum, it just sits by my desk in the dining room.

My husband’s a cardiologist and he’s pretty adamant about not having red meat in our house on a regular basis. We do have the occasional beef burger (a few times a year) but aside from that we avoid red meat. A good way to help lower cholesterol aside from that is to avoid egg yolk. Try eating whole grains, low fat milk, nuts, fruits and veg. And if you don’t like fish you could add in a fish oil tablet instead to increase your omega 3’s

I'm the same with expiration dates. I throw it away as to me, it is an indication that it is not wise to use it even on the date and after.❤ loved the video - very encouraging to do my pantry ❤

Make little snack baggies for friends/other moms/churches with the snacks your son didn't like! That way nothing goes to waste and it feels good to bless someone else!

If it helps anyone motivate to clean their fridge - what I've been doing is going through quickly and dumping out everything that's gone bad and consolidating all items onto all but one shelf. That shelf I pull out of the fridge and give a good scrub in the sink and let air dry. For some reason I find it sooo much easier to wash and spray things down in the sink versus spraying and wiping things out or off. Sticking my whole arm in the fridge and trying to get any crumbs or dust out of the corners with a paper towel/rag just feels so hard, but rinsing something off in the sink feels easy. Let it air dry and stick it back in and then eventually repeat that process but with the next shelf. Its a strange process maybe but it results in me getting it done 🤷🏻‍♀😄

Oatmeal for your cholesterol. Regular oatmeal, not the instant stuff. Apples are good also, as well as Brussel sprouts.

Pantries are probably a reflection on the square footage of your house and the age of it. Putting parishables in plain sight would probably have them eaten before expiring. Kids never search.

Try using lemon essential oil to get the sticky residue off with a scraper/ one of those tools you can use on the counters to get stuck on food or whatever! Idk what it’s called.
