Thank you for posting. I was cooking pinto beans and then I had a bathroom emergency. When I returned to the kitchen everything was burnt and stuck to the bottom of my sauce pan. I had forgotten that I had Bar Keepers Friend and it worked in no time. I suggest wearing gloves and not in inhale the powder.

ELBOW GREASE: At my age I don't have any left. Put a bit of oil, bacon grease or what ever, then add a half teaspoon of your dish washing detergent. Mix to around with your hands and let it sit for an hour. Come back with your husbands electric drill with a wire brush attached (wire brush from the dollar store), and power scrub all that shit off in one minute. Rinse the brush and save it for the next time. Don't give it to you husband, he will probably lose it like most men do. Another tip: For houseplants. You have a great house, and probably have plants. Buy a quart carton of Epsom Salts at the dollar store and mix one tablespoon to your water for the plants. Feed them with this about twice a month. You plants will become greener, thicker, and soon start spilling out of their pots and reaching for the ground. Most people thing that fully open curtains and blinds are what a plant needs. Remember HOUSE PLANTS. They are not natural to the too much exposure. They originate in jungles and tropical regions where the grew naturally under groves of threes and other such lush natural shadowing. We think of giving all that they need. Untrue. We kill them. Most house plants need filtered light and never over exposure. They originated in the shade. Another tip: Don't buy expensive spot free dish cleaner for your dishwasher. Use dollar store pure ammonia... not soapy ammonia. One gallon one dollar. Stop buying expensive fabric softener for the laundry. By one nice smelling bottle from the dollar store and use it for months. Take a clean white thick sock and mark it with LAUNDRY with a magic marker. Make sure it gets washed before use. To use, just add a drizzle of fabric softener to the old sock and throw it in the dryer with the clothes. It can be used over and over again. I suggest washing it every couple of weeks, and using it again. Cleaning black marks from tennis shoes. Use a rag and a little fingernail polish remover. Your own Windex: Buy a gallon of windshield cleaner for automotive use as the dollar store and add a couple of tablespoons if pure ammonia (not sudsy) and shake it up. refill you old Windex bottle and use it forever. Spill on the carpet and company is coming: Using dollar store Lysol... Wipe the spill as best you can and then spray heavily with Lysol and scrub with a rag. It does not clean, but temporarily lifts the stain from visibility. Poison ivy: Ship expensive doctors and prescriptions that are actually over the counter, expensive and not as effective. Add 1/4 cup of salt to a small pot and add 3/4 cups of water. Boil while constantly stirring until the mixture is clear. Allow too cool and mop it onto the affected areas. Results will be seen sooner than using Caladryl. Scabies: Buy a pound of salt pork and slice it like bacon. Fry it until crispy. Remove the fried salt pork and pout the remaining HOT grease into a small container that is heat proof, like a washed and dried out tin can, using a napkin and a rubber band to hold the napkin as a strainer. You will get a clean grease. When cooled enough, pour the grease into a container that can be stored in the fridge. It will solidify and look live Vaseline. Treat your scabies for under $3.00 and no doctor bills. It is the high content of salt from the meat that kills the mites and heals the wounds. Cleaning diamond rings: Wash soap and water and a tooth brush. Rinse well and scrub with toothpaste and an old tooth brush again.. Rinse very well and allow to dry on a napkin. Can blow dry to get water particles out of small crevices.

I have now brought a bottle of Bar Keepers Friend, the all purpose power cream surface cleaner. It cost £2.49 for a 350ml bottle for a bottle at a local store here in town.I used it to clean a stainless steel sink and the results have been very impressive. It has worked where other cleaning products have failed and I have tried many over the years! Works great in the bath and shower room too, I'm now a convert to Bar Keepers Friend. Thanks DeSHANTA B.!

At issue is let it sit for ten minutes! Make a paste and like waxing a car, let the product work for you! Once dried up you then reapply dry powder on top of the dried paste, add some water and it comes off so much easier… however, the new types of Teflon makes these old stainless Woks and thing off the past.

No, it will not work. BKF binds with a lot of the mess we want removed. Baking soda is more along the lines of a light cleaner with abrasive power. BS just doesn't always cut it, especially with huge messes and really hard water

Thank you for the video! I originally tried the gel form of Barkeeper, but it didnt work very well. I scrubbed very hard, but it hardly made a dent in cleaning it up. Then I came on here and saw you using the powder, so I got the powder and it worked extremely well. I guess the gel is highly diluted or I didnt get the right version. I shook well before using it too.

Hey, bigmoneybobby, How are you? Yes , as long as you wash your item several times with a dishwashing liquid & rinse it well. I tend to be heavy handed when using any cleaning agent. I have used my wok many times with no problems thus far. I now use less cleanser & allow it to soak before rinsing. Either way i have achieved great results with the Bar Keepers Friend. Bigmoneybobby, Thank you for watching the video & taking the time to comment. It is greatly appreciated. Have a GR8 day ! DeSHANTA B ; - )

Hey ciresound , Happy New Year ! Is it safe to clean the dishes and cookware with Bar Keepers Friend? Yes - when properly used, BKF is safe to use on food preparation and serving surfaces. In fact, BKF carries an NSF registration and can be found in many commercial kitchens. This is what i found when i researched your question. I hope this helps. Thank you for taking the time to watch the video & ask a great question. Stay safe & have a fantastic day ! DESHANTA B ; - )

@DeSHANTAB718
@DeSHANTAB718 Жыл бұрын
Hey Lukas LW, how are you ? Yes , it was a brillo pad . Luckily , it didn't leave any scratches. I use a sponge the Scrub Buddy sponges now. I purchased them from the Dollar Tree. I also use less of the Bar Keeper's Friend with the same great results. I make a paste then apply it to whatever I'm cleaning. I am getting ready to post a new Bar Keeper's Friend video shortly. Lukas LW, Thank you for taking the time to watch the video & ask a great question. You are truly appreciated. Have a fantastic day ! DESHANTA B ; - )

Why don't you let the BKF sit on the pan for a few minutes so that the acid can work before scrubbing? Much less scrubbing and less product used this way.

That "burnt" stuff is seasoning, like a cast iron skillet. Look at the woks in the kitchens of Chinese restaurants, they are BLACK! I wouldn't have cleaned that off.

Steven JL Really? You are right. Except this is a steel wok, it needs to be seasoned. Go to any chinese take out and look at their woks, they are BLACK! That is not burnt, it's seasoning, and it's full of flavor, as well as being nostick. And THAT is why you cannot recreate a lot of those dishes at home, they just don't taste the same.

Steven JL - Woks like the one in this video are made out of carbon steel, not stainless. And carbon steel absolutely needs to be seasoned, just like cast iron.
