Interesting discussion. Brings out the point that "the best camera" is one that matches the context, ie. use and user.

I got rid of the Nikon Z5 full frame and moved to Olympus om-1 and their amazing 1.8 primes and pro zooms for a fraction of cost on eBay, like new condition. Super lightweight system. I did a detailed comparison against Nikon Z5 before I made the move, I didn't see any difference in image quality, in some instances I liked oly colors, and I like OM-1 menu system better than Z5.

Darren it is good to hear from you. I had the Fuji XT system, Sony, Nikon and Blackmagic systems all at the same time with an assortment of lenses. I did house cleaning as well and went down to both Sony and Blackmagic. I felt the same as you do regarding Fuji, I have never tried their GFX. Fuji’s XT lenses were amazing. The harder decision was giving up the Nikon system both DSLR and the Z system. Might I revisit Nikon in the future, maybe. For Nikon I loved the menus, the feel, build quality and colors, but for reliability in autofocus and the ability to make the camera into whatever you want through the menus and buttons and with a huge lens selection from third party, Sony was it. Colors can be tweaked in post, especially with a faster work flow. We use Blackmagic for interviews and other things in terms of image quality has a lot more features in common with a pro level video camera, like shutter angle, recording to Sd, B-Raw, Etc. When using speed booster, with the blackmagic 4k, we can use a couple of Nikon F mount Lenses and get that full frame look. I miss Nikon at times and I still shoot film with a F4 (for my enjoyment)but for business it’s Sony and blackmagic, color matching hasn’t been a problem. I have the A74, A7SIII, A9 and a A7RIII. . Our clients are mostly business and government, but we do portraits, weddings , sports for schools and other event work. The best camera or system is what best works for you and your business.

You didn't mention your Leica gear. I'm guessing you already sold it? Nice to hear from you, even though I'm a month late watching this one.

Great to see you post a video again Darren and interesting to get your thoughts on system selection. I started watching your channel because I was a m43rds shooter. IMHO, the Olympus 7-14f2.8 was (still is?) the best UWA zoom I ever owned. It is worth remembering that back in 2010, at that time Oly/Pana were the only mirrorless game in town and the advantages of mirrorless photography (what you see in the viewfinder is what you get), small form factors, lighter lenses etc were a long time coming to other systems (and imho still not there even with Sony). Anyway, good luck to you and your business and I'll always be interested in what you post no matter how irregular it is.

Yes. I can see why you'd need to houseclean. I'm realizing this channel isn't really for me. You're only talking to pros or wannabe pros. I'm neither. I'm more of a family photographer (of my own family). My question to you is what camera are you taking to Disney World or on vacation? I doubt it's any of the ones you mentioned. It would be sad to know the most important images you ever take in your life would be with a phone with all that pro gear you have.
