Love your work Simon! Always been a fan of your thoughts about pots. I try to watch one of your videos before I start a new batch of pots for inspiration. Hope to attend a workshop this year and learn from you!

Thank you Simon, it's encouraging to learn that I'm not on my own doing these things (and wondering if I'm doing it correct). Can be difficult when you're working on your own in a pottery. I've been using just a stone cutting disc in my grinder but your diamond one looks better, I might have to invest.

Thank you Simon. I’m looking forward to your pdf about conversion to gas. I was given an old small(ish) Good Kiln that I have been wanting to convert.

Before I use a grinder take an old chisel and a hammer and I smack any glass that is on the shelf and many times it pops off completely and it eliminates the need to grind in that spot I have had complete circles of glass pop completely off

Water - always good to sponge down the work area and KEEP it wet while grinding: 'keeps dust down a LOT compared to dry sanding.

Looking on Amazon for the grinding stone tool (not the electrical grinder, but just the hand-held tool with a stone on bottom & red handle on top) what is that thing called?

Has anyone ever tried to fire a cookie on top of a glaze spill on a shelf? I would think that this is not an original idea but that someone has tried. What do you know? I would be intersted in finding out if that could be a "faster way" of cleaning than the good old grinder. Thanks!

Just a band-aid, the cookie may very well adhere to the glaze drip and either become part of the shelf, or take a bigger part of the shelf when you separate it.

How about if the spot is just a big notch from grinding the glaze off abs not actually from the glaze?

Why are you doing this inside your kiln? Isn’t that glaze going to get everywhere and just re melt over and over again!!
