lol he doesn’t he just puts then there gets them dirty and the restores them. They wouldn’t look like that if this was real there would be discoloration. Or yellowing on the white. These are more and likely old ones and he just ran them thru the mud for the video

Hey John I need some advice I’m trying to start my little restoration business but my taping skills are asstastic how do I improve I use the blue painters tape but they seem not to stick on the soles is there a specific tape I should use to get them crisp lines.

Clean them before you try to tape it dust can cause the adhesive to deteriorate.

I don’t use blue painters tape for crispy lines. I use the 3m yellow tape. I get it from home depot

Bro when painting the midsole (or anything in general) sand the area you are going to paint. THEN APPLY PRIMER. Let the primer dry. Sand the primer with 400 grit of finer. Clean it with alcohol (acetone will remove the primer) and/or a tack cloth. Then apply paint. That is a professional way to restore them not sure what you do with these but that’s how you make them perfect.

Wait? You don’t shave(prep) the midsole? Doesn’t that make the reglue bad?

The glue on the midsole is still solid. In my experience, it doesn’t affect the strength of the reglue. I risk damaging the midsole more if I shave it down with a dremel.
