it's a massive attention tax, many times you'll see a pro dodge 100 shots and then eat two while macroing and lose the game

I believe it's because they have to build a star gate to do that, and early on when the harassment is happening that would be a significant drain on resources.

Probably because Zerg can have 7 bad fights and still be in the game, while Protoss and Terran are barely allowed 1 bad fight vs Zerg.

Either the HT needs its LoTV auto attack removed to put it in line with the other non-attacking spellcaster units, or other spellcaster units need their own super weak auto attacks to be more in-line with the HT. In hindsight, i really don't understand why the Raven, a unit that fling out auto turrets, doesn't have its own built-in turret. Same with Vipers being able to spit air-destroying parasitic bombs yet can't do small acid spits.

That makes no sense. They are an air unit so you just tag them to your army and they follow & provide vision. When they are harassing alone what are they going to auto attack? An overlord? Alerting the Zerg to the Raven's location? Nothing is in the air for Protoss. A ground auto attack also makes no sense, you want to sneak up and use the powerful spells which actually do damage.

@hivetech4903 There's move commands and attack commands for that very reason. Have you ever played SC2? A basic attack that does an insignificant amount of damage allows it to engage with the army instead of flying past and getting shot down, as seen in game 1. That's why high Templar have an insignificant attack. So they don't wander into the enemy team during fights

No one 'knows' terran is OP. Some people think so because they don't understand the game. The people who do know don't say terran is OP. Just for your info there were 988 pro TvP games in May 2024. Protoss won 53.44%. 2 base timings are a significant investment that will put you behind if you don't get enough damage. It's hard to defend any races 2 base timings especially if you don't scout correctly and prepare. Or if you don't pick off the few high value units depending on composition.

I feel like disruptors are the only way Maxpax can get a leg up on Clem. High Templar just get murdered as soon as a couple ghosts get on the field.

To be fair MaxPax is among the worst of the top Protoss at using Disruptors. They are a terribly designed unit, but he mostly tried to avoid using them in tournaments so someone with the micro of Clem is going to have an advantage.

Skill levels are not equal. Terran & Zerg have a higher skill ceiling at the very top (global top 10). Cheese never works against top or even mid tier pros, not sure what you're talking about.

​@hivetech4903 skill levels are fairly equal, it's just one race allows the full use of it, while the other doesn't. MaxPax is just as skilled as anyone else, but his race doesn't always show it. But beyond that, yeah cheese does still exist.

Tournament level PvT for the latest month is 52% (that means 2% in Protoss favor). So balance is pretty great.

Honestly my interest in the match drops after terran gets a win. It's often only downhill from there for toss. Somehow.

There's plenty that could be done, you dont have to make changes that affect other matchups. For example damage vs shields, damage vs mechanical, etc, could be adjusted on many units without affecting any matchup involving zerg. Might not want to nerf terran too hard if it affects TvZ but i feel like at the very least we can make disruptors 3 supply again.

What makes PvT dreadful to watch? What makes you think PvZ is in a good spot?

Then how does terran not die against literally everyone else? Toss has chrono-boost and zerg is zerg, they both have more workers than terran

Protoss has to play perfectly to win, plus have terran make some significant mistake to win. while terrans have every timing initiative, and everything is spoonfed and idiot-proofed. People think the sliver of people remaining to play in this game.. actually playing on 1v1 ladder.. is significant? This game would have kept far, far more players if the Blizzard and this pimple-popping "balance council" wouldn't have been so tone deaf. We don't need a balance patch every few months. Fix the known issues that everybody, literally everybody, knows about.

Bioballs trade incredibly well against gateway units... But robo units can make protoss deathball much stronger. Colossi melt marines, immortals crush marauders. But then all the Terran needs is vikings to handle the colossi, so thats why protoss moves to psi storm or disruptor. Personally I'd lower the disruptor cooldown or make them cheaper/faster to build. The recent widow mine nerf was a step in the right direction. Ghosts are too powerful in every matchup and too easy to get to. If you compare to broodwar, EMP was on a completely different unit that cost more gas that came out of the starport and emp had to be researched and the projectile was slower. Here you just build a ghost academy and you already have 4+ rax with techlabs to pump them out of. Also liberators shouldnt 2shot stalkers. Even with +2.

@@chloesmith4065 Disruptor novas are too easy to dodge, they are too slow. How many time do you see them being dodged completely. You would have to catch your opponent off-guard, but then the disruptor has horrible vision, and terrible movement. And while tanks auto-target high value units like disruptors, colossi, and immortals, guess what the robo units do? They auto-target all the wrong units. Seriously, immortals auto-target marines, Colossi auto-target marauders and yes, no joke, refineries/assimilators. You have interceptors also targeting marauders or supply depots instead of marines, they totally stupefied Protoss. Then around 2019 or so, they reduced the pylon power area. How many times do you see people struggling to place down a building to fit in the area? How many marine drops to target down pylons to totally shut down production? This game is ridiculous, and there is a reason why so many of the people left this game. it is frustrating. The weird thing is, the fixes are so goddamn easy to do to make this game much better. Yes, fucking nerf the fucking ghosts. They pop out ready to EMP.. what about high templars? Oh wait. Storming takes 75 energy, and damage is spread over five seconds or so. EMP? Instantaneous 10,000 damage. Cannot be dodged..then add the dorito dust to weaken armor.. then add the Marine Marauder Medivac ball.. literally, there is nothing that doesn't go the way for Terran.
