In this vlog, our team (Me, Lana, Heran and Alton) decided to visit Norrland, more specifically Sapmi or Sameland, a region in Northern Sweden which are inhabited by the area's origin people The Samis.
The Samis has throughout history just like the Kurds been oppressed of their language, culture and identity and even though the Kurdish history and struggle is much more different than the Sami one, there is several similarities which I have discovered during this trip.
Today, there is approximately 100 000 Samis spread around four countries which historically are claimed as the Sapmi homeland. These includes Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. The Samis today maintain their cultural and social rights again.
Sweden's highest mountain Kebnekaise is located in the heart of the Sapmi homeland and our team decided to together climb the mountain and raise the Kurdish flag on top of the mountain.

The kurdish flag is one of the most beautiful flags of all time. Love and respect to all kurds from us Greeks. The kurdish flag should always always be next to the Greek flag because it is well known that kurdish people and Greek people are brothers.

Thanks for raising bouthh flags of Kurdistan, when I read the video title I got some scared of that which flag you will raise .. This show how deep you are involved in the Kurdish qeustion , both flag have alots of soul sucrficing behind so both are for different parts of Kurdistan. Perhaps some day indepedent Kurdistan will choose one of them or a totally new one.

There is only one right Kurdistan flag. That represents the hole Kurdistan and all kurds. Stop trying to separate Kurdistan with the rojava flag thanks.

@@Yalla_hej couldn’t agree more as a apoci, the flag of Kurdistan didn’t even originate in başur but in bakur and still people act as if it only represents the krg.

Can someone explain to me why in Rojava they fight for the red-green-yellow Rastafari flag instead of the red-white-green Kurdish flag with the sun? Does it have ideological reasons or due to international law? Spas!
