Thank you. For the first time in my life I just realized I could remove the water cup. The instructions for my compressor never tell anything about the maintenance, just some badly written english. I tried to remove it before but since it's tight I thought it was never meant to be opened. Lo and behold, it's just a bit too tight to unscrew all these times.

I used to use a dehumidifier in the room I was painting in. I would turn it on a half hour before I would airbrush. It helped with the moisture problems. They aren't cheap but we needed one for our basement so I lucked out.

Good tips there. I use a 26 gallon upright compressor with a moisture trap I got from Lowes and that works for me. I'll try towards this weekend to shoot a video when some of this snow melts, on my setup and how much water builds up in the tank if it's not drained.

Great video Doc. A lot of times I find that the compressors themselves will create the moisture. You can have a zero humidity room and when the compressor is running and getting hot, cold, hot, cold it will make the moisture. A moisture trap is a great tool to have and it helps relieve headaches when painting. Of course you need to make sure to drain them often as well or they defeat the purpose. haha Take care my friend.

I recommend your moisture trap away from the compressor. run a extra short hose to your moisture trap to the compressor. cuase the compressor while it is running the compressor heats up and it also heats up the moisture trap at the end. so this is why you need to separate the moisture trap from the compressor. if you do this you won't need extra moisture trap going to your airbrush.

Great video, Doctor. I have a question. I use a similar compressor (Passche). I believe I overheated it by using it for three hours continuously. Even with the moisture trap, I had water in the hose. How can I avoid this problem in the future? Add an inline as a secondary? Not use this compressor for so long? Thanks!

Russell, I use mine in spurts, then I turn it off. This way it doesn't overheat.

The compressor takes the humidity in the air passes through the filter as it’s still vapor. The best thing to do is remove filter from compressor and install a long hose. This will act as a radiator and turn vapor into water. The filter and the end of hose will remove water.

Thank for the info. I have a problem i bought a new Badger Standard 350 set air gun. It came with a can compressor.my problem is when I attach it to my TCP compressor I hear it leak at the part the hose connect to. I'm also using fast reliever. But when i add it to the can compressor that came with it, it dont leak..I HATE THOSE CAN. Do you think i bought a new bad airbrush ?? Also I started to buy Hollywood model cars.3 stoogest, Mach 5,KITT, Duke ect.. so far i have 10.Have you ever BUILT ONE? They're cheap made but It bring back good memory..

hey there is your moisture trap attach to your compressor if it is that is why you have that problem. what you should do is separate the moisture trap away from the compressor cuz the heat from the compressor also heats up your moisture trap heat equals water. mount the moisture trap regulator away from the compressor and have an short extra hose to connect moisture trap to the compressor. this will solve your problems great.

Looks like the Harbor Freight/ Master Airbrush series of air compressors. The gimmick to these is that they are rated up to 55+ PSI, but will only deliver a steady 15-25PSI. I doubt this iwata is any different. They just cost more. Not saying it's not a nice compressor, just that its a rebranded brand who's cost point is higher due to the name on the side.

You really don't need a moisture trap if the compressor is a oilless. The compressor uses a diaphragm to puts out the air. If the compressor comes with a tank and needs oil, then you need a moisture trap. Just my two cents input.
@renecontreras6188
@renecontreras6188 9 жыл бұрын
Sorry but you're wrong. Oilless compressors need moisture filters to paint just like any other compressor. The moisture comes from the air and the heat in the motor not the oil.

Here is a true fact of model. They use to give tube glue for free in all model they stop cause it almost STOP the sell of model in USA for good.(FOREVER) The reason why parent found model of there kid new open and unbuilt.The kid were sniffing the glue.Some went LOCO. so this why they don't provide glue anymore
