How can you tell right away whether your patient's skin infection is something you can easily treat with oral antibiotics or something more complicated and even life-threatening?
Something that will require diagnostic tests, broad-spectrum antibiotics, or maybe even surgery (sepsis, abscesses, areas of necrosis, necrotizing infections, bacterial arthritis, prosthetic joint infections, diabetic foot infections, osteomyelitis, etc.)?
In any patient with a skin infection (cellulitis, erysipelas, etc.), we should always look for signs of systemic spread, abscesses, deep tissue infections, necrotizing infections, and other factors that make treatment more difficult. The danger signs and red flags covered in this lecture are absolutely essential! The red flags covered in this video will help you recognize severe and potentially life-threatening skin and soft tissue infections as early as possible, even if they appear unimpressive at first.

I got cellulitis from my cat. We were playing and I got nicked on the side of my hand. I didn’t notice until my hand swelled up , followed by redness and very painful. Within one day I went from no symptoms to the urgent care.

I was diagnosed with cellulitis. I thought it was insect bites. I was given steroids antibiotics and Triamcinolone Acetonide cream USP. It didn't really work. Cellulitis reoccured. I followed up and visited with a Dermatologist, she prescribed antibiotics and Clobetasol cream. It worked for while. It seems like I am getting cellulitis again or maybe it's an inect bite. I had a skin biopsy and I've seen about 3 doctors. I swell up it turns red and it itchy real bad.😢 Thank you for your advice.

Excellent information. Thank you. Two things worth mentioning. First, dead teeth. Dentists bekieve root canal treated teeth are benign. They are not!! Get a 3D x-ray done by a biological dentist only, not a traditional dentist!! Second, ozone gas can be used as a VERY effective adjunct to conventional antibiotic treatments, with no side effects if used properly by a trained professional. I coach my patients to own their own ozone machines to be used at home on a daily basis, as needed. Everyone should know about ozone gas and it's applications. It's wonderful. that's my two cents. God bless all of you

good point. Dentists also believe fluoride is important for tooth enamel. That is a qwack job. Its a neurotoxin.
