I loved this. As I was watching I kept getting that feeling of stale cigar smoke in my throat and the want for a shower in cold water! Clint's cigar smoking scenes were a masterstroke and built his character.

The Gaming Vault Right?! I always felt that cold shower sensation when watching the trilogy. Thought I was the only one. lol Yeah, the cigar really "put the bow on top" of Clint's character. Thanks for the positivity!

@@13bh12 Director Sergio Leone used to smoke the "Toscano cigar" and ordered Clint Eastwood to smoke the cigar he gave him in his character. Clint Eastewood didn't smoke at the time, and he begged director Sergio Leone that his character didn't smoke. Sergio Leone replied to Clint: "Clint, we can't cut out the cigar. He's the protagonist!"

I smoke cigarettes and I've never understood people who keep their cigarette or cigar in their mouth instead of holding it in their hand. Like the smoke gets in your eyes and its more difficult to smoke in general. And your spit will probably start making it fall apart if you aren't careful. Perhaps with cigars it's easier or you're just a fucking badass like Clint and don't give a fuck.

clint eastwood said they were virgina cigars he purchased based on looks for the character. he said they (props) cut them, so maybe in half

I can never understand how people can leave a cigar/cigarette in their mouth for long periods of time. I used to smoke and whenever I'd leave a cigarette in my mouth, smoke would get in my eyes and the filter gets all soggy and chewed up. I can only imagine that being worse with a cigar. And then there's talking too which presents even more problems.

I think cigars are thicker and made for that, also possible that some of these but not all are prop cigars and he isn't even smoking them but just leaving them their for a dramatic cool factor. Kind of a stable in movies really.

I smoke decent cigars and I can tell you that you never want to leave them in your mouth, it wets the end and ruins the smoke

Depends on which one you are, theres a wet smoker and then theyres the dry one.

It's Tuscano cigars. Some of the slowest burning, affordable cigars around. Most people cut then in half and they last a half hour, up to 45 minutes!

That’s true however lighters were not widely used until the 1930s, since this film is set just after the us civil war 1861-1865 it’s historically accurate

They were Toscanos, Italian dry cured. Try the Parodi Ammezzatis sometime! Cheaper and just as good!

Cigarillo's are cigars, and he didn't smoke Toscano's. He smoked cheap cheroot cigars from the us. He hates smoking, so he didn't care about the cigars he smoked.
