The dephaser seal usually leaks. They love to eat injectors and coil packs. Magnetti Marelli IWP042 injectors. NGK coilpack and only use NGK platinum plugs PFR6E-10 Defo needs a new engine mount but might be worth replacing all 3. Upper, dogbone and gearbox mounts. Thanks! Have new dephaser seals and dephaser, plus new cam cap seals etc. Also have 3 new mounts to go on. Since this vid, have done the injectors and its running on all 4 now! Next one soon.

Enjoying the Clio content. Own a 182 also which is my daily and currently on 132k. I've seen some on the fb owners group with their mileage at 200k plus miles including one that's tracked and on all original engine and gearbox. Might be worth joining the fb owners group and sharing your content also. I'll try and post a link to the video also as I'm sure there will be lots of interest. Looking forward to the next installment.

Thanks! I have since shoved a set of injectors into it and its running much better. I do post the links up to the videos on the Clio sport owners club on FB (if its the same one?) , I will keep making them :)

Yes, I Agree! Its been a bit manic in the workshop, and we have a new ramp going in that keeps getting delayed by the supplier (automotec!!!) causing issues, but rest assured, the next video will be along soon!

Good video again. First off, I think you were right to doubt yourself at the beginning with that first set of figures... they were way too low for an engine that's operating relatively normally. Your dry figures (140psi-150psi) are relatively consistent, which is good. They're not catastrophic, which is also good. However they're not great either. The F4R variant in the 182 is a high compression engine. In tip-top condition it should be around 185psi-200psi dry. 190psi would be very good. The figures you have here are possibly consistent with a high mileage engine that's had a hard life. An oil change/treatment may yield an improvement, particularly if the oil hasn't been changed in a very long time and there's a lot of crud around the engine innards. What's the filter and the sump like ? You are at a crossroads of sorts. The car is going to require a lot effort and money to get it to a reasonable, serviceable standard. When that's been done however, it won't drive the same as car that's producing compression figures of 190psi, nor will it command the value of something that has 70K miles. I bit the bullet and did all the engine work on my 130K car and in hindsight it was a mistake. Also, I didn't have the bodywork issues you have here too. If this was a lower mileage car, producing strong compression, I'd suggest doing it as the car would be worth circa £5K at the end. Here it's likely to be £2,500... maybe £3,000 at the absolute max. So what are the options if you decide not to go ahead ? Well, though it pains me to say it, breaking is one of them. Depending on how granular you decide to go and how much time/patience you have, the car may generate £2K in bits.

Looks like an ex-Cliosport owners car. Get yourself on there if you need any help but I think you know what you're doing. Great vids. I had the 182 Cup but had to sell due to going oversea. I miss it every day.
