Actually my wife dresses modestly and women still don't like her because of her beauty. Actually the more feminine you look, that means acting lady like and being modest is also extremely feminine and can trigger insecurity in evil women.

I used to work at a job with alot of attractive women. It was a warehouse job so most women wore workout clothes. The men acted like kids in a candy shop! Most of the women loved the attention but it was lust not like. So many ppl were messing around, cheating, stalking, harassing. I had to get out of there

I’m a 20 yr old Christian girl and I’m just getting into modest dressing.

I was upskirted and touched by a strange man in public while grocery shopping. The next day I had a man touch my thigh on the bus. I remember going to my therapist and asking her does she think how I dress is causing this? She told she’s not blaming me for what happened but dressing modest minimized male attention. I noticed she always wore skirts that were long and flowy. She taught me the importance of modesty and from then on I got rid of my pants and started building a wardrobe of dresses and skirts only. I still have men who I feel just like to get a rise out of women whether modestly dressed or not bother me but no where near as much as when I didn’t dress modestly

I think modest dressing is just pretty, sophisticated and feminine. Not overdoing makeup is also good. I go for a natural fresh look.

The comparison of receiving respect vs lust 🙌 I used to dress exceedingly modest to the point of being called frumpy due to severe body acne. However, I started dressing less modest in a sort of rebellion against my insecurity. Always make sure you’re dressing that way for the right reasons or your heart won’t truly be there! Restarting my modesty journey now💛

I love the fact that you said that our sin as women gets in the way of us as women having healthy relationships. I always wondered why most women around me didn’t like me or they turn negative towards me when all I was trying to do was form friendships or get to know them. I internalized most of it. And I always question why women didn’t like me( most away ). I even thought that I was subconsciously putting out some type of negative energy. Many of the women around me start to exhibit a sort of non-verbal and unwanted competition with me when I wasn’t even competing and I was just trying to exist. It is not a good feeling but what you said definitely made things make a bit more sense.

Am glad to never have exposed my body in dressing, in my 33 years of existence, I never wore skimpy/tight clothes that highlights my body shape (mind you I am blessed with a wonderful body, praise God). There's something about covering up ladies, it honors God.

I miss the eras when women always wanted to look their best before leaving their house, I work in retail, I see a lot of women in gym attire and once I saw 3 pre teens running around the store in little bikini bathing suits. I sometimes go to the grocery store wearing leggings and a t shirt, but most of the time when I am not at the gym I want to look my best. I love your series, even before coming across them, I have been changing my style to more feminine romantic looks, wearing skirts that are either below the knee or just at the knee, if my peplum tops or dresses that are too low cut, I will wear a tank top or a sports bra under the top so that my cleavage is always covered. I have noticed a huge difference now on how people treat me especially at my job or when I am having a date day with my husband.

Such a great topic you touched on. I think most women have had negative experiences trying to form meaningful bonds with other women. You mentioned that some great points!! And let's extend it further social media and celebrity influence are destroying the God given purpose of having healthy relationships as women.. why?? Because social media teaches us to be selfish, we boost our egos when we get attention...wrong attention by the sexual poses, and measuring each other based on physical beauty . We've been taught to be sexually liberated but really it's a form of slavery, we're been taught that the only way to be heard, to be valued and feel empowered is by taking our clothes off.. and add on the Kardashian cult.. women who with body dismorphya, whove done nothing but change alter their looks through surgery are dictating what beauty should look like.. making their beauty as superior..plastic beauty..'literally'..instead of loving the natural features that God gave us.. truly upside down world we live in...but Bindi it's women like you and many women who value modesty, our God given roles..in our example we can be a light to other women who are stuck in that vicious cycle of lust, vain beauty standards that will never lead to any happiness, and start creating healthy bonds as women. I almost fell for the deception that the lustful treatment I used to get is better than the honor I receive now. After reading some scriptures and watching this video, I’m standing back on the foundation of the Lord’s truth! Amen! Very interesting. Thank you for that. I have three very impressionable boys. Modesty is top on my list. You can tell a lot about society by looking at the women in it…whichever way a women goes, so does society . Our society has gone some dark places. Someone else in the comments mentioned once you are modest, society will reflect that right back at you.

And regardless lust is something you can lose…as a woman of a certain age..lust ages out vs respect stays throughout your years. Hard lesson for me in my past.

Who are designing Womens clothes these days-satan? It seems ridiculously difficult to find modest clothing I have to piece things together to “cover up” because there’s always a hole somewhere in the garment off the rack. By hole I mean it’s either low cut at the chest, slit up the skirt, bare shoulders, mini skirt , see-through, etc. or combo of!

More men have openned doors for me etc when im dressed modestly and feminine. Was like light and day. Starting to dress like this now.

I'm not used to Mean Girls I went to an old girl's Catholic High School and although that was a long time ago I'm used to women being kind to each other. but within the past few years I've encountered so many meaning cold women towards me and I will be more mindful of how I present myself to the world and I will Embrace modesty more cuz I just cannot stand the energy of the people around me and how I am treated by skinny jeans

To your point, I've noticed that when I try bring a girl to church or certain Christian circles; the girl will usually be treated somewhat mean even on occasions where she is modestly dressed. Now, I move in really driven and successful circles, in which people take really good care of their bodies(shocking I know, since I'm not a looker lol). So I've concluded its probably their attractiveness that's the issue. Half the time folks won't believe the girl is an engineer or a CEO, etc... on account of the stereotype that too pretty probably means dumb or sinful, etc... Hence why I also believe stereotypes and pre-conceived notions should be addressed more. It's actually why I don't bring girls to church anymore too. What is your feedback? Hello Bindi, I would love to hear your thoughts on “modest swimwear!” If there is such a thing? Now that I dress modestly, I’m torn when it comes to what to wear to the pool or beach. Swim team was my sport growing up so I appreciate the sport and workout benefits but with all that you are subjected to partial public nudity.

Would love to hear your perspective on dressing modestly among other Christian women who don't share your convictions on modesty. For me it's been pretty tough, because they automatically assume you must be judging them and many times I've found I've been dismissed as proud and judgemental. Do you have any experience of this and how have you dealt with it? For me, it's been to give them space, and to intentionally avoid looking at them much and what they're wearing and hopefully overtime they see that my attention is not on what they're wearing but on wanting to fellowship as a body of Christ. We're all on a journey and dressing differently does not always mean you're judging, it just means God has called you out to something different on that issue. Would love to hear your thoughts and really seeking to learn if there are other approaches you've taken that's been effective or if it's an experience at all.

Just read a thread by @MedleyTrey on Twitter that every admonishion about dressing modestly in the bible is about not flaunting wealth and material possessions. It has nothing to do with sex/sexuality. In cases of lust the bible always holds the person lusting responsible and NOT the subject of their lust. Please address this, thanks.

Never been honored by a man, personally. I get more gawking from dressing modest because it stands out more and ends up ppl like a little mystery. Plus my shape is actually not appealing to many ppl. I just wear some leggings and a tunic like everyone else.
