Please consider finding a men’s or youth shelter to donate clothes to or a smaller organization. I’ve had friends who used to work at goodwill and sometimes they throw away entire bags of clothes because they don’t have the space. Goodwills have been overwhelmed with donations recently because of people deep cleaning during quarantine!

I worked at a shelter who gives donated clothes to thrift stores, so honestly, I'm not sure it matters either way.

I’m glad you’re keeping your plastic hangers! Everyone mentions that other types of hangers are more sustainable, but there’s no point in throwing away plastic hangers you already have

I don’t throw mine away I donate mine to thrift store so they can use them for the clothes they sell.

Plain white or black hangers are perfectly OK! Not everyone has the money or reason to swap all their hangers for something fancier. What matters is they all match so your clothes can be front and center without extra visual noise 😊

with the amount of spray painting that goes on in the DIY community - it's so easy to make all your existing hangers one color and not create more garbage.

Omg that peach suit set! I totally love!!! I just moved and before moving I started looking at minimalism. I went from 60 short to only 20 but I was also down sizing to a studio but it felt so happy giving away clothes I was t wearing anymore or fitting. When you decide to splurge on new hangers go for velvet! It’s feels so good and adds umph to the closet. Also space it out a certain distance so it makes it look like you’re shopping in your own closet. It’ll make you go in there a lot more

Great job Drew. I do this every season when I change over my closet from spring/summer to fall/winter. Amazing what I purge. I’ve also learned to live with a lot less. I love clothes but sometimes they just sit in my closet, some even with the tags still on them.

I enjoyed this immensely! One strategy I would suggest (that worked for me) was turn all of your hangers the opposite direction. As you wear your clothes and put it back, turn the hanger back the correct direction. After 6months (or whatever time period) or at the end of the season, you’ll be able to see what you have and haven’t worn buy the direction of the hangers. 🤎

Awesome Drew! I love the way your closet is looking. I love the little area where you put all of your fragrances and jewelry and sunglasses. Love those hooks as well. The mirror fits perfectly and I was wondering if that area had some storage and then you were showing it open and putting stuff inside, so question answered.
