My husband is a professional painter and he says that when it comes to dark colors (especially reds and blues), the way prevent streaks is to put a coat of grey (flat finish) as a primer. He swears by this! 😊

Great tip I did this when my teen son decided he wanted a red bedroom. Gotta say only 2 coats of the red and wow. It looks amazing. Bright colors always worried me but it turned out to be a very awesome teen bedroom/chill out room 😊

Ostrich run was priceless. Globe need a stand (a foot tall) the same color as the room and then moved to other side of window. Love globes!

I'm loving the make over, the only thing missing is actually an essential: a pillow by the window with a cat on it. How could you get any work done if there isn't a cat to walk all over your keyboard.

I love the end result, the final wall color couldn’t be more perfect for the space, it’s light, but not boring and it ties in beautifully with your bedroom area. The one thing I’m conflicted about is the gold frame you placed the (geniuses creative) artwork in, but each to their own. I love quirky little nooks that can be turned into practical spaces like this. The green tint of the Birchwood paint, along with the plants and your chair really tie back in to your bedroom, but still making it an obviously separate space. Am I the only one who noticed the tiny detail of the HELMET resting on the HELMUT Newton book?

hey dude, cool office. when doing that edge finish on the desk, one way to get a cleaner edge might be to make the dowels a little long, then trim them off with a flush trim bit on a router

I saw the dark navy paint and thought the nook would have been such a cute hangout or (I don't know how big it is) sleeping nook. Just paint stars on the ceiling with glow-in-the-dark paint and add like dark yellow mustardish curtains so it had a little bit Arabian vibes idk Sry if my English is not correct😅

I think big velvet sage green curtains would be awesome to cover the office when you need downtime so you’re not looking over when you’re in bed thinking about all the stuff you need to do and also make it feel even more like a cosy nook when you’re in there

My dad always uses a staple gun to put his sand paper onto a wooden block. That way you have something to hold onto! It makes sanding so much easier. :)

A. So glad you repainted. On camera it looked like a black hole in your wall! B. Desk refresh shows what you can do with what you already have and C. The artwork is fantastic! Such a quick and easy way to add a graphic punch. Great job!

So beautiful! you should also consider adding a small rug/mat and putting a wall paper on the back wall to add some depth and texture and add some cushions to the bench! and maybe hang some things to the rod like lights! Love it!

Love the result! For some reason I thought you’d keep the dark color on the shelves and up. It looked so cool (to me) when you started repainting and reached the shelf. It’s dark in that upper area anyways, so having it dark as a design touch could be interesting.

I’ve seen that desk go thru so many different makeovers from painting the legs black to this tambour style and this is probably my favorite!! Your style has grown so much and it’s becoming more unique and cultivated to you, I love it!!

AH with that greenish grey tone would match a lovely like dark choco brown on the top wall above the bar, like a little eye catcher with some white and green line art in white frames. I feel like it would give it a cozy feel

The real question is where did you put the ostrich stuffies in the finished makeover look? They belong in the space too 🥲 dont deny ur true authentic ostrich self 😂

I gotta say, Walmart has stepped it's game up so much in the past 8 years or so. Watching this I realized the vast majority of items from my bedroom, living room, and home office makeovers were from Walmart and look great-down to the paint and everything
