Your welcome. So with flood damage other then fluids you want to check grounds and make sure there is no rust to prevent contact as well as corrosion. Same goes for the fuse block. Then check the tcm the water could have damaged it as well as the clutch

yea just be carefully not to strip the head of the bolt before you get it out. I have heard of people taking the old actuator and making a tool out of it. i would try to hard and force anything. If you move it i would make sure you count the turns so you can put it back where it was. They do self adjust but no reason to make it harder on the computer

More then likely it will be the solenoid. Tcm was hard to find when i was looking for one plus ford has to sync it which cost extra. The actuator you can do a relearn on it yourself at lest

It is possiable. But could be the fork. Cheapest test is to get new actuators and try it. If its the forks then that requires pulling the transmission

yea thats what sucks about dealing with shops/dealers. had the same thing happen to my sisters car for warrenty except i didnt clear it it would come and go. But my reader would show the light had triggered. wasnt enough for them. i honestly cant think of anything but if it cleared and didnt come back then as long as it does fine there is not an issue.

It should, but not is not always the case. Much like you can have a weak sensor that is causing issues but no engine light. My understanding on these transmissions is once they go out a rebuild is just waiting for it to happen again. 105k miles is not much would be a shame to get rid of it, but with a new one you may get 50-100k more out of it. Those transmissions are just rolling the dice

It is risky, the actuator code can end up being bad clutches, worn clutch fork or even the tcm. worst case scenario is about a $3500 fix best case is $81. These things are risky, and even sometimes once they are fixed they are running on borrowed time. Some of those do well others have nothing but issue.

Did the dealership give you a copy of the diagnostic test? I wonder what DTC codes popped up? If it doesn't say on the test paper, then you can get the Check Engine Light codes checked for FREE at Oreilly, Auto Zone

i Have the same code P07A5 with P287A And Recently chabmges the TCM and the Actuators Codes are still showing up the same after replacing them Could it be the clutch forks Or just have to be reprogrammed ?

@@mateo.s6122 Try to have it reprogrammed first. ford made it hard to just swap parts, sometimes you can with the relearn yourself in the car, other times it needs ford software reprogram. If that dosnt work its the forks

@@EfurdGarage ok I just tried to do stuck forks put lots of wd40 in it dam it’s much worse now than ever before massive clutch slip now .. dam it 😂 I’ve changed both actuators.. was running fine for a while .. I saw a video stuck forks because I got a p07a code .. nightmare .. now transmission is overheating wasn’t before 😂

@@garrieparsons2265 well it says overheating but its a computer guess from how much friction is on the forks. Yea i dont think the wd40 helped

Yea sounds like the wd40 got on something like the drum or clutch causing slippage. Honestly im not sure what you could use to clean it off with damaging anythign. I know a few things that could but im not sure if they would cause any damage

And im not saying to do this but i guess i would take out the lower actuator and in theroy the brake cleaner would remove some wd40 but the brake cleaner would evaporate and hopfully the rest would fall out the other actuator hole and then i would change the fluid. But i can not guarantee it will fix it and i can not guarantee it wont make things worse.

Thank you. Well i always disconnect the positive side. I like to leave the ground on, that way it is always grounded when its re connected. It always feels like the safest way to do it and its the way i was taught. There is there are other videos that show it it involves the gas pedal and ignition switch pretty easy

@@EfurdGarage what risk do people run into possibly if they don't disconnect the positive? Also is that one way to reset the actuators? I had my TCM replaced last week and obviously they didn't change actuators. After doing it on your car what did you do? Just let it run awhile, put car in different gears? Thanks man

@@LoFi-Kingdom some people feel safer when installing new parts because they feel it it dosnt hurt the sensors. I was hoping it would help relearn. I turned the key to position 2 all the dash lights should be on. Then press the gas pedal all the way. Wait a few seconds and turn the key to off, Then release the gas pedal. Wait 2 minutes. Start the car and drive. The quick learning is works while driving at various speeds, and it allows the transmission to relearn all the clutch thickness

hey bud hows it going? well i just finished putting my actuators in and still nothing. i am seeing your steps now so ill try them tomorrow. both new actuators top and bottom. tried to put it in reverse, wouldn't go. pushed my car out to drive forward, still doing the same things it did before. TCM is new and now new actuators. any advice besides trying the key method? Both actuators are the same right so it doesnt matter which spot they go in? Thanks @@EfurdGarage

@@LoFi-Kingdom yes they are the same. with the tcm i believe you may need a programmer. I say that because an ex ford employee told me sometimes with those you need a ford programmer to relearn it, so if you can find someone at ford you know or someone at a shop.

I would start by cleaning the ground wires and checking the harnesses. Then if that dosnt do it i would replace the acuators. Then the tcm. Basically start cheap and work your way up. You may have to have someone with a ford program to set it after changing parts becuase ford set it up that way.

@@EfurdGarage ok thanks I got all grounds to car cleaned up fully charged battery and got actuators on order .. one guy said his battery low so he stepped it up to 75o cc’s battery instead of 560 cc amp battery that helped his issue . My code say low volts right.. but I had my battery tested to ok .. the p0902 is indicated module a right??? Thanks for helping 👍👍👍👍

@@garrieparsons2265 car dosnt run off the battery, the battery is there to start the car the alternator runs everything after its started. low voltage could be sevral things as well such as bad grounds harness or a weak actuator.

I think it was P2872 clutch element a stuck open. It Did not fix this one. Clutch fork was damaged

The updates you get are mostly for navigation and extras. Ford has a special program they use to relearn everything and tune it but that wont help a bad actuator

they are the same part, the locations just control separate gears. i would just replace with new since it seems one of yours is bad. the shuddering could be causing damage

I have an engine management light on & no reverse. It will select reverse if you try reversing from cold but once it warms up you get R displayed on the dash but the car won’t reverse. Which actuator controls reverse? Top or bottom? Did replacing the actuator fit your reverse issue?

@@EfurdGaragemechanic and his friend who owns a transmission shop said it’s the Probelm for my p0700 and P07a2 with it shifting and clicking each gears u can hear it click , and it won’t go in drive but in reverse. FORD are dumb they said clutch B does 1,3,5 and Reverse and A does Drive 2,4,6 but the guy who told me which one is bad said the bottom one does drive , 2,4,6 gears and he worked on theses cars a lot . So ford no help only transmission shops help ford robs your money so u can’t fix the Probelm

You can find the relearn process on Google. Or if you have Forscan program on your laptop then you can clear the adaptive shift tables and have the program help to relearn the process within 30 minutes via USB/OBD2 connector.

Step 1 Put the key into the ignition or use the starter button to turn the car on. Step 2 Make sure you put the gearbox into the neutral position (often displayed as an N) Step 3 Turn the car off and wait for approximately 20 seconds. Step 4 Now shift the car into the park mode (P on the gearbox). Step 5 Turn the car on again but do not fully start the engine. Step 6 Wait another 20 seconds Step 7 Turn the car off and quickly turn it back on again. Step 8 Shift the gear to the Sport setting (S) or Drive setting (D) Step 9 An alarm should sound to indicate the TCM reset process has been completed. Step 10 You can now drive your car as normal or you may wish to relearn the TCM.

Why there is no sound after reset tcm

so a 2012 is a manual transmission even though its called an auto. Its a dual clutch but the computer controls the shifting so it seems like an automatic especially since you have an automatic shifter in the console. The last 2 codes is for a and b forks, first is tcm. So it sounds like it could very possibly be the tcm. But be careful because the computer is very picky about clutch wear
