I did something similar against PKS we'd broken each other board twice and was in a simplified game state, it's his turn normals torn scales, discards torn scales for its effect, I called by the one he discarded, he scooped

Just the other day I was playing against a zoodiac Mine player who was just buying time building resources or finding combo pieces while he had mine on the field, but then after I outed the mine but he was still safe cuz he had electromagnetic turtle in grave. He was a good player but his plans took a huge hit when I top decked called by getting rid of the turtle giving me free reign to finish him. Considering how long and good the match had been and this was game 3, winning by using called by on turtle was hilarious

@@juvenileygo it was only the 2nd half of game 3 that mine came out. I wasn't too worried about mine cuz I knew I had outs in my deck, the tension came from the fact that I didn't know how good his hand would be by the time I got rid of the mine.

I love these back and forth games. The other day, I was playing master duel’s no extra deck challenge with their pre-made flunder deck. I came up against a Cubic player. We were volleying and it was the most fun I had during the event. He kept cycling between vijams and the monster that needed three cubics to be summoned that also summoned three cubics (vijams here), so I legit needed snowl’s piercing effect to close out the remaining life points and waited like fifteen turns to draw it (My board was too clogged for me to summon the eagle). When I finally drew it though, I had a work emergency pop up. I was about to summon snowl god damn it! I’ve never wanted to unalive a client so much in my life

i had a very similar moment happen to me except my opponent was playing galaxy photon and tried to summon galaxy soldier by pitching galaxy soldier so i just used called by the grave and they were so confused that they activated galaxy soldier again, saw it got negated, and then just surrendered.

I've seen 3x Griphon in Rose Tenyis. Usually they're cutting Tenyis because Griphon can be summoned on any board.

Oh, I had even more intense duel. That was 20+ turn of Mekk-Knight/Sky Striker vs pure Sky Striker. I've almost lost to deck-out, I've had left 1 card, if I recall correctly. That was crazy

I will never understand why people surrender when they're going to lose in literally 5 seconds anyways You still get duel rewards from just waiting for the attack to go through, but you forfeit everything by leaving I get that most of the rewards are basically negligible, but just getting anything out of it is better than nothing, especially since you have the chance to get gems too. Even in such a small amount, it adds up over time I can totally understand why you might want to leave if you opponent still has 20 minutes left and they've already beaten everything you have, but this was very back and forth, both parties are getting *something* out of it

I always do that, just a habit from IRL duel. Hell, surrendering is literally one of the tips on loading screen. Konami should adjust their quest imo.

Like I just beat a Floo player by using Trains (in ranked not the event) and, as he had 2k lp, I summoned my 3rd Gustav Max only for him to surrender! Like he was one effect activation away from losing. (I play the Trains deck to get the dailies like the "deal X damage" since people like to surrender if you've cleared their board...so I go for effect damage. It's not actually good but I was surprised to beat the Floo with it!).

At most it nets 2 draws because they are obviously doing LV5 synchro, 2 tokens with Jet into Cupid pitch into Borrel to search Nemeses for Colossus. 2 draws is not worth sacrificing Denglong > Pillars, and the potential dumping of Chiwen to float into a Bi'an to Herald of Arc after resolving Pillars especially when it is a potential out to Droplets/Dark Ruler. Doesn't mean it has to be Adventure Tenyi Swordsoul to not be suboptimal. Would net you 3 slots in deck and 1 slot in Extra, but that is not worth. 2 random cards do not equate to Pillars + potential Herald.

okay i have a serious question here, if this was a real duel (i'm sure it wouldn't have gotten to this point) but if it were, were you be able to catch that play of activating called by? I mean you were surprised when the game popped the activation window

To be fair, called by the grave would've prompted even if the griffin wasn't in grave (instead prompting him to banish another monster like halq in grave, which would've done nothing). The prompt probably made him realise he can do the play a second faster, but he probably would've caught it before it was too late irl. Obviously not all duelists would catch it, but from seeing his non-master duel videos, farfa seema like someone who can easily catch such.

I mean yeah he should have. His surprise seemed more about his opponent playing the second Gryphon since the engine usually only runs 1. Knowing you can called by is hardly a big brain play to begin with.

This Duel is solid Evidence why Called By is a better card than Crossout in my opinion. Anyone still asking for Called By to be banned needs to Reevaluate themselves as a Player.

Obviously Called By is the better card, that's not even up for debate. But Called By may even be too good of a card. It's handtrap protection, Graveyard disruption, and even an effect negate for on field or hand effects past turn 1. It does too much and isn't even OPT

Not in a maxx c meta where handtraps are quite predictable. Crossout is much more valuable to open with since it can negate imperm, nib, maxx c, and ash. If maxx c were banned and people start playing all kind of hand traps (crow, artifacte, droll, ghosts) then sure, but in the current meta crossout is much more powerful.

called by negates activated effects AND effects on the field with the same name. So gryphon rider resolves without effect.

An example of this is if you called by maxx C on your opponent's turn, then when it's your turn you can activate maxx C but it will resolve without effect (because the effects are negated until the end of next turn after called by is activated)

@@dwinandapramudya I get it now, but explain this: I used eldlich gold's eff from the graveyard, then my opp. chains called by the grave so I didn't get the summon. But I have another eldlich in hand so I used the hand effect after, it resolved properly. Is it a bug or am I missing something?

Just want to spread awareness the maximum amount of free farmable gems you can have in MD is 10000 everything else goes to the gift box I emailed Konami about it and they know only purchased gems exceed 10k
