My dad carried a M14 in Vietnam and I have a picture of him with it , I'd love to have one like that and a M-1 garand of course.

In the last two years, I purchased a CMP service grade M1 these along with a CMP 1911 service grade and boy they were beauts! The M-1 received a new stock while at the CMP, but I am sure the variable serial numbered components throughout tell different historical stories. The kids were in awe when they held them. They learned about the Garand’s role WW2 and 1911’s role in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam from their grandpa (Vietnam Veteran). There is something different about holding history in your hands, it caused the kiddos to stop, think, and ask questions about wartime history. There are a lot of organizations out there attempting to chip away at 2A, but if they could see the kids learning about history through touch and discussion, they might understand why this organization and their mission are so important! Thanks CMP for giving us that opportunity! 👏🏻👏🏻

My dad served in WWII in North Africa, Sicilia and then on into Europe. I would like to have one from that time. Also, my wife is from the Philippines. So I'd like to get one from there for her.

I heard there is considerable paperwork that you must complete in order to buy one? Can i just walk in one of the CMP stores and buy a M-1 rifle?

Hey there! We have a video guide that walks you through the process on our youtube channel which I have linked below. You must meet 3 requirements to purchase. 1. Proof of Citizenship: Passport, Birth Certificate, or Military ID E5 or higher. 2. Proof of Marksmanship: Concealed Carry, Hunter's license, or proof of participation in a CMP match are some ways you can provide this. 3. Membership in a CMP Affiliated club. If you're not already affiliated you can sign up in our store for $15 for membership in the M1 Collectors Club, or $25 for the Garand Collectors Association.
