The host refers to the new CEO as “this” instead of “he” or “Mr.Narasimhan”. And he doesn’t even greet him before asking questions. Never once says his name but calling the other guy with his first name. Acts incredulous about his selection & says “This is a big job.. for YOU” gesturing at him 🙄So sick of this subconscious racism & microaggression, he needs to be educated in good manners.

This is going to be the right way for many Boomers big business founders passing the torch to their new candidate. The reason I said it because being a CEO is a BIG job especially when you bring the new people to be in charge in the company, as I can relate it with my past. First of all, being the successor of one of the greatest food retail business like Howard Schultz is one of the luckiest opportunity that anyone could dream of (maybe it's just in my dream), and to be supported by the CEO itself, as it mentioned in the video where they work closely together to learn about the business as well as he lets him run the business solo without any P/L and direct report yet he will go tour with him and let him execute all the company strategies and co-create with him. This is way better, as I think Howard learned the mistake in the past where he just let his successor run the business without structuring it properly, and now he mentions that he is never coming back again as he found the right person to replace him. I am eager to see how Laxman helps starbuck do the turnaround in the business during the uncertain and economic downturn, he has great competency working as a partner at McKinsey in the past and Pepsi-co. I have seen that more and more big business founder structure the replacement of their business to the successor by selecting the insider employee that has been growing and learning in the company for a while because it's easier to do so, as well as there will be NO struggle for the new CEO to hit the ground running because they know the inside out of the company, yet this is one of the kind and perhaps a great example for many big company in the future who wants to select their successor CEO in the future. I've once worked in Starbucks under Howard's leadership and it's not questionable that he makes us feel like we are proud to work in such a great company, Starbucks cares about their employees. I can't wait to see the next great things coming at Starbucks and I said this as an outsider, not being paid or wanting to work at Starbucks. My dream may be one day I'll get this kind of chance for my second time to run the business with the CEO. #AlittleGirlWhoDarestoDream

@@bignavin10 no Indian company is there in terms of global reach but you see there is bias in your question. It's not a fair compitition tbh because India was not the great influential market like the American one back then. You see most Indian companies didn't had the head start like American ones. Because you see India was a colony back till 1947. We had/have a lot of poverty, illiteracy etc. Also our growth was slow, not like China's. But see here a good example China they have companies that are now competing with yours now even though they are just 3/4 the size of your economy. You should note that even though the silicon valley was not built by Indians but they are manned by them from the start. They started as low level software engineers and not even 2 decades they are running them, successfully so. Don't think India has nothing to show for themselves you see India built its own silicon valley. It built small companies that American companies are investing in because they know future is in India not America. Next generation customers are here in India not in America. America is aging society whose future major industry will be of adult diapers. Infosys, TCS, freshworks, Flipkart, Ola etc are a few companies from India. Note them you're gonna hear about them a lot in coming years.

Noticed a number of Indians leaving comments. There are still a handful of few Indian CEOs which is not a big deal considering India got a huge population 1.5 billion people and they immigrate the most to all other countries.

Improve the hosting skills Can't believe this is a professional media outlet. Even a amature youtuber has better hosting skills. No wonder why so many don't watch interview boradcast and listen to podcast.

International companies wil for some years will have Indian CEOs because India is the only market which is flush with funds in the mega cities and upwardly movement of the attitude of such people, and they want to take this advantage to expand ,and Indians are obsessed with a Indian being it's CEO, this brings closeness to the products considering their own.
