CNC Router Z axis Tuning with Gage Blocks

Following up on the X and Y axis tuning videos, we tackle getting the Z axis tuning. Now our CNC Controller and our CNC machine agree on the X, Y and Z axis as to what a given distance really is.

This should be fairly easy to do with a dial indicator instead of the touch probe. The indicator will measure the error between the gauge block (a known distance) and the movement of Z carriage without introducing additional errors from the probe. I will try this and post the results.

I'm down for 30-minute videos. 20 might be better, but I'd rather the video be longer than to miss out on pertinent information. Then again, I typically watch KZfaq while working on my own stuff, so my attention is usually divided between two tasks. Since I'll be sitting in front of my computer anyway, 20 - 30 minutes isn't a big deal.

Thanks.. I am kind of like you in that I don't want to skip anything.. There are videos I have seen where that one crucial bit of info was skipped.. Wonder what others think.. Or breaking up the videos and sharing them in playlists... But yah, if you can't tell.. in general I like the longer format as well.

Thanks! really appreciate the feedback. I am with you..(I like the longer videos).. Which is why I tend to make longer videos :)... But I didn't want to assume that is what you guys want too.. By the way, nice wiring cabinet in your videos.. super clean install! :-)
