1:31 Well, like all IP stuff, the proper answer is always: "it depend..." It's not a public disclosure if your KZfaq video is not listed (in KZfaq servers, but cannot be access freely by public) and used privately by a prospect under NDA.

It's a shame that the room wasn't more crowded. The USPTO team is always very welcoming and resourceful.

I did not know that you can trademark a smell! Sure it does make sense for a perfume... Not so much for a pair of shoes! lol

Didn’t even know about it

We heard of it for the first time less than 2 weeks ago.

The pto is a bit disapointing. The marketplace for patents is stupid opaque. How do you find licensees or distribution. Not being able to share ip or development progress is harmful to innovation and the ability to license is difficult or impossible. It is the best time for ip and it still sucks for the normal inventor/entrepreneur. Even your book one simple idea doesn't show basic numbers like deal flow or typical deal size. The forums that do exist to identify licensees are pay to play and not particularly effective.

I would highly recommend you venture instead of license. Looks like it fits your personality a little bit better. Remember, it’s very simple. It’s all about attitude.

@@inventRight I am venturing and we just received first run. It would be nice to make the process of either licensing or venturing more predictable and allow you to allocate capital for projects with clearer upside and risk calculations
