Күн бұрынCoal and Glass tells the stories of Annie Nicholson and Mary Lowe, teenagers in the 1930s in St Helens. The film uses interviews recorded in 1985 by St Helens Archive services, footage from North West Film Archive and reconstructed scenes.
Directed by Charlotte Bill, DOP Nick Gordon-Smith, music by Vini Reilly, edited by Cliff West.
Commissioned by St Helens Archive Services, funded by the National Lottery.

Thank you for making this video available to us. It’s a wonderful glimpse of a time, not too long ago, that deserves to be remembered if for nothing else than to show us, hopefully, how relatively good things are for us now.

the Greatest Generation has always been fascinating to me. Great film about a great era.
