Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed �The Colbert Report,� which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced ko_l_b__r, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"

Well, it actually starts making a lot of sense - he's obviously been inhaling a lot of hairspray for the last 60 years - his brain has been deprived of oxygene every minute he was at home in his air thight tank apartment... It also explain his orange colored tone of skin - his blood has simply adapted to transporting hairspray gasses instead of O2 and CO2..... A living proof of evolution - truly marvelous!

I live in Huntington West Virginia. We don't have a coal mine. We have Marshall University. The last time we made national news was when Jamie Oliver came and tried to show the schools how to cook a healthy lunch. Right after they said Huntington was the most unhealthy city in America. Good Times. lol Still we don't have a coal mine.

The Lenny Leggo Show It's a primary, i.e. competition for the party nomination. There is no one else competing for the republican nomination, therefore Trump has no opponents in the current elections. As well, unless he beat both Bernie and Hillary by 2 to 1 or more, it means effectively nothing. Every Republican who voted voted Trump because he is the only name on the ballot, whereas the Democrats are still split between two candidates, roughly equally in many cases. Point of fact, your interpretation of the current competition is flawed, given that trying to beat each other is technically exactly what the Democrats are doing. They will not be directly competing with Trump until the general election. Also 'outbeat' is not a word.

sean holt So i'm part of the problem for having different political views? I know Sanders supporters are hostile, but this country is a democracy. Democrats haven't accomplished anything in the last 8 years, we need a Republican. I voted for Reagan, and that's the only president I don't regret voting for. We need another one. Sanders and Clinton would ruin us.

Beef Patrol Your country has been on the slide since right-wing fundamentalist Christians became politically active and put in Reagan... but if Trump gets in the country's standing in the world will fall off a cliff. Note in regard of Reagan's administration, in case you are not old enough to remember:- As Reagan grew mentally less competent, presidential power was largely exercised by Nancy Reagan, who took her biggest decisions on the advice of a soothsayer. It was fortunate that the soothsayer in question had a better sense of his own responsibility than had Ronald Reagan, or Nancy, or the fundamentalists who put him in power.... ... otherwise the trump kind of mess now threatening would have arrived 30 years ago. This is a great shame. Americans I like, but America as a political entity? No thanks.

Coal miners in West Virginia and beyond hate Hillary with a passion...and it's easy to see why. Anybody that has clear intentions of putting "coal miners out of business" is just asking for it. But to come back to that state and tell everyone that her comments were "taken out of context" is just shameful! With that being said, it's no wonder that Bernie Sanders and Trump cleaned her clock tonight!

+Robert Stuart At first I found this statement to be mildly amusing, but then I started thinking about the people I personally know that support Trump, and I would honestly say that at least half of them (that is a very generous estimate, more like 3/4) have had significant head trauma in the past that I am aware of, perhaps even more... I now wonder if supporting Trump is a possible symptom of brain damage resulting from head trauma, like increased aggression or some of the other problems people have noticed in old football players? That would definitely explain some things, if it is indeed true. I'm seriously going to start asking Trump supporters about this, I don't particularly want it to be true but I'm too curious now to dismiss this possibility as a mere coincidence based on what I know right now, I need more data...

Sure, it's easiest to do research on - at least if people are honest and doesn't take offense! But there are many other interesting factors it could be very interesting to know more of! Such as, traumatic events in the childhood, neglect or abuse from one or both parents, alcohol and/or drug abuse by their mother in the time she was carrying them, bullying in school etc etc.... As I understand it, so far the typical Trump voter is white male, mid 30 to mid 50, if employed it's in low to medium income job, often no or just little higher education and if having higher education it is very rarely higher than a bach.dgr..... It is on most parameters the same type of voter who most often will vote right wing in Europe as well!

I've been thinking about how a constant online presence and the shifting of communication from a few people face-to-face to a lot of people you'll never ever see affects the way the human race thinks/will think. Shorter attention spans, negativity from a constant influx of more bad news from all around the world (as bad news sells better than good), not to mention peoples' tendency to hurl abuse online instead of more positive things... Everything we intake affects us, y'know? Not just our food diet, it's our media and thought diet too.
