Excited for those new bottles. The 500ml size is great for everyone who buys bulk chemicals. I would much rather have a lighter weight sprayer that I can refill before each job, than some big heavy thing that stores more but is less convenient. It's also great that these bottles aren't just POS dispensable things, I would rather buy it once and keep it than to keep going through bottles that fade or change colors or aren't cleanable anymore.

GTechniq is killer stuff. It's a main go to Detailer product here in the UK. All their coatings do have a shelf life, but they are fantastic.

An idea for the bottles: since they aren't translucent, maybe the company could make the back strip where you wanted to put "OG Wheel Cleaner" see through, then put the OG branding over that. That would allow for easier dilution while giving you a spot for your logo. Just spitballing.

The coating is likely ok. Most chemical raw materials have a shelf life of 1 year, and most of the time it is a 12 month PAO (period after opening). Most likely it is on their website with either the shelf life or PAO. Look for SDS or Storage conditions. Living in Florida you shouldn't have to worry about freezing and I doubt you left it in the sun. So I wouldn't fret about using the 10 month old coating. I am a chemical engineer. EDIT: Reviewed their website -> "Use C5 Wheel Armor within 1 year of purchasing.... We recommend only using opened bottles within three months of opening"

I guess another option for when the ceramic coating fails would be to get the wheels sandblasted and repowdercoated, then reapply another ceramic coating. Also looking forward to these new bottles, love the idea of the weighted end on the hose.

I feel your pain with the wheels, had the same clamp mark damage on my set.

Unless I'm using a product undiluted, which is rare, I only use bottles with fluid measurement markings on the bottle. Don't want to mess with measuring cups to figure out dilutions. Just want to do it in the bottle. Also, if I have multiple bottle of the same brand/size/color I want them to be translucent white so I can see the color of the product. I can immediately identify what the product is that way without writing anything or putting labeling on the bottle. Food for thought.

I also have a Pressol bottle, but most are Monello's. A lot more practical, because the come with dilution and volume scale, are translucent and have the proper size (750ml).

I hope it helps , you said at the begining would it go off? , Hypathically it is possible but I have used Gtechniq C1 and C2 V3 . Now the c1 I used on a friend's car the following year who wanted to see if it would help I had great results bare in mind it was opened up. The C2 V3 I use it on alloys it's a sealant spray but I found the effects was great on the barrels of the wheels. I been wanting to use C5 but I was debating trying Carbon Collective wheel sealant soon.

One other suggestion in regard to the bottles....... Put a white panel on them so we can write the contents of the bottle on them without the Sharpie wearing off. Like they put on Glad Bags for the freezer.

Hey Matt, I really like the look of the new wheels! Much better than what was on the car! Also, about your concern with the coating stability and whether it is good to use after that long, I think I could shed a bit of light as a chemical engineer. These coatings are typically a solution/mixture made of nanoparticles (such as SiO2, ZnO, etc.) dispersed in in solvents, with some other chemicals (such as silicone resins) added to help with the adhesion of particles on the surface, after solvents evaporate. The surface of the nanoparticles is chemically modified to make the particles hydrophobic (silane-modified SiO2 particles, for example). This is what causes the beading ;) Their size is typically below 100 nanometers and they are dispersed in non-polar (water is polar for example) solvents, like THF, DCM, IPA, etc. SiO2 particles are used often because of their low refractive index (very transparent!) and high hardness (scratch resistance). Also, ZnO particles have shown to protect from UV. So, some of these coatings might have a mixture of two or more different particles. The most important thing is the concentration of nanoparticles in the solution. If it's too low you don't get good hydrophobic properties. On the contrary, if it's too high you get spots, patches, and not a very clear/transparent surface when dry. With that been said, there should be nothing in the coating that oxidizes, expires, or goes bad after you open it. So, you could use the coating again after a few months or even a year, "except" when the concentration of particles in the solution has changed since solvents can evaporate over time. This will result in a high particle concentration causing streaks, spots, and other visible imperfections after the product cures. You could store the bottle in the fridge (at low temperature, 4°C), after the first use, to prevent the solvents from evaporating and keeping the coating at the right concentration for longer, just a suggestion. I know this was a long post, but I hope it was helpful to some extent!!!

Or maybe rough around the edges would be a better way to put it. You still have that no bullshit approach but you've definitely refined your delivery. I've learned quite a bit watching your vids. Just provide clear bottles with ratio guide lines on the side. Most chemicals are colored nicely. I’m contemplating on buying the Walmart bottles for $1 because I like how their straws are super long and go all the way to the bottom of the bottle unlike many of the tolco sprayers I have that come short of reaching the bottom of a 32 oz bottle

Seems like a lot of work even for new wheels. I've got some new wheels coming and I was thinking I'd just wipe down with IPA before I put on the C5. Though I guess it's good to make sure it's completely clean to ensure best adhesion.

Watching this because I just bought 2nd hand wheels and wanted to see what you would do to fully prep them for c5 wheel armor. Dang, I havent done nearly enough.. i used a degreaser and then isopropyl alcohol to wipe them until no visible dirt showed on shop towels.. maybe i do need to strip any old coatings (if there are any) and clay them before i c5 them.....

I'm interested to see what you think of the Pressol sprayers after you've tested them. In my own search for a sprayer, Gloria has been on my radar; they sell some sprayers that look like Kwazar clones and a second type I've seen no where else, and they have a small foamer with a "flexing" swiveling head which could be just the ticket for detailers not wanting a larger tank sprayer/foamer. It's so hard to find anyone who really is trying to make a BETTER spray bottle. Many seem happy to make the same spray bottle or the cheaper spray bottle or the "different" spray bottle. I want better. You want better. Who is making the better spray bottle?

I also hate how chemical resistant trigger sprayers wear out in less than a year. Tips given to prolong the life of sprayer is to turn the bottle upside down and spray out the excess chemicals until you are just drawing air. However with the weighted trigger upside down trigger, this won’t be possible

Matt, IF you decide to go with the FUGLY bottles, CLEAR with incremental oz. markings and dilution ratios is the way to go IMHO. Just my opinion of course (your Co.) but I'd definitely go with the 32 oz. size also.

Hey Matt, those conical bottles have me thinking they may be an excellent replacement for the bottle on the MTM PF22. I'm tired of my empty foam cannons falling over. Do the threads match? This is a “laugh with you” and not a “laugh at you” comment. Believe me Matt, I am a big fan. With all that said, here we go... I have never seen anyone in my entire life struggle with spray bottle adjustment like you Matt lol. I get something, make the pattern what I want, then never have to touch it again. Every bottle you touch you screw on the thing like it has 200 threads you have to get through.

I’ll have to look into wiseguy. As a detailer, brown tires slow me down so much. Even 3:1 apc just doesn’t cut it for me.

I’m a big fan of good smelling cleaners even though I’m sure the scent has no effect on the cleaning power.

Are the plastic bottles strong enough not to collapse inward while spraying out its total liquid volume? Some thin wall plastic bottles you have to let air back in by unscrewing the sprayer, wasting time and rhythm. Thanks for the videos.

For the label, I like to write the date I received it on my bottles. This is useful for seldom used chemicals to know if they are still good or past their useful life.

I'm really liking these bottles! Are the weighted tubes raw metal? If they are I would be concerned that reactive wheel cleaners or iron x would react to that metal inside the bottle. Thanks for trying to find us some of the best products on the planet.

If a tire shop mounts the tire on to a wheel by aligning the valve stem as close to the yellow/red dots on the tire then they might not have to use any weights, therefore minimizing scrapes or damage to the inside barrel of the wheels.

I like you am OCD with my cars the video you made about yourself and living with OCD and these cars is me 100% . A tire mounting machine isn’t that expensive to be honest. Why not get your own brand new one. Youll save alot of money on the long run and tire shops wont mess up your new expensive wheels. And you can take them to fet ballanced or just buy that machine too. They are so easy to use.

Matt, why not have the colored part be the nozzle/trigger while the bottle itself is kept white. I think that helps with quickly identify volume and color of the liquid

I found OPC diluted 1:1 cleans tires much better than Adam’s Tire Cleaner full strength. Have you tried it?
