It's So good!!

This show legit had me rooting for Cobra Kai last episode when Miyagi-Do was bullying Kenny. They do shades of grey so well.

I never hated Johnny, he is the most likable character in the show

I feel "We are all stuck in our own experiences" is the theme of the entire show really.

@@ScottRutter Sometimes that does help because experiences are lessons in and of themselves. But Ali put it best, that there are three sides to every story. Daniel and Johnny aren't wrong, but they're only seeing things from their own side and putting that same error in their kids. The kids are highly impressionable too and also too emotional, so it's just a lot of flip flopping and heated moments and misunderstandings all around.

One of the things I treasure about this show is just how human all these characters are - no one is completely right, no one is completely wrong (although some are pretty darn close) just people making choices based on their own experiences. In the end, we find out the villain is a lack of empathy - a desperately needed message these days.

A recurring story element is the introduction of a "no can defend" move that allows Daniel to defeat his opponent, then we see someone defend it in the next movie causing the need for a new "no can defend" move. The Crane Kick is how Daniel defeats Johnny, then Chozen blocks it, forcing Daniel to win by using the drum technique. Daniel isn't able to use the crane or drum to defeat Barnes, so he uses Kata to defeat his fear, then he defeats Barnes. Daniel uses the pressure point technique to defeat Kreese, but now Johnny is able to counter before Daniel can finish. This season shows that all sides are learning each other's moves, so it's harder to defend.

@@Wannabe_Baby thats cause "if a man can't stand, he can't fight" is a badass line, that had a significant impact on Daniel in KK3. While the three D's is just what any Sensei/Coach/Personal Trainer would say. They simply wouldn't be excited by that line, whether they caught it or didn't.

It speaks to his imposter syndrome. That's why he's always putting things on Mr Myagi. Daniel doesn't know who he is without his teachings - which parallels Miguel and Johnny's journey. Neither Daniel or Johnny have grown past their senseis. It's why Miguel and Sam are the real protagonists. Even Silver is trapped by his sensei.

Seeing Silver basically triggered trauma within Daniel, which is understandable given how much pain Silver forced Daniel to endure, it's understandable why Daniel chooses to solely focus on Miyagi-Do. Also, I'm personally not surprised that Samantha's advocating for Cobra Kai's fighting philosophy given how unsuccessful administrating Miyagi-Do helped her during Season 3.

Sam honestly has had a strike first mentality since season 3. She led that arcade fight where Demitri got his arm broken. Instigated hurting the CK students during that soccer fight. What she is doing here doesn't surprise me, it just amps what she already feels is the "right" thing to do.

@@Sephiroth766 That is definetly true I guess I just thought she learned from her actions in season 3. So to basically have her go deeper into that mindset just feels jarring to me because that mindset never helped her before.

@@Sephiroth766 To be fair, the Cobra Kai kids were being dicks while in the arcade and even messing with the one dude who was working there who was part of Miyagi-Do. She made the decision to act and take the fight to them after assessing their numbers once she got there. It's not like they showed up to the Cobra Kai's having lunch and decided to fuck with them. It's a gray area. Would they have been better off not going there to fight? Yeah, maybe. But then they'd have to be the victims all the time.

To be honest there’s always been glimpse of Sam showing more of her Dads hot-headed attitude than his calm one. Back in Season 1 she was about ready to hit Kyler before Miguel jumped in

And even the fight at the house wasn't all on Tory as Hawk who broke Demetri's arm, in a fight Sam started and who threw a kid threw a window also broken into the LaRusso's house. Sam is a spoiled brat who has never taken accountable for any of her actions throughout the series.

Silver has been nice to Daniel before. And it was all an act to hurt and torture him. So now, 30 years later, when Silver shows up again, with Kreese again, and claims he's sorry, you think Daniel should just automatically believe him? You can't understand why Daniel thinks its yet another mind game? Really? Use your head sport. We see Silver before this. We see he seems to be genuine. Daniel sees nothing before Silver struts onto his property after 30 years with Kreese. Why the fuck would Daniel ever believe for one second that Silver regrets what he did?

That's the thing about this...Danny's flawed. He's learned a lot of great lessons he wants to instill on others but his own experiences, specifically with Cobra Kai, has shaped his way of thinking and so it comes across as very antagonistic. We're seeing Johnny's perspective and he's flawed too, because he had good intentions for his students but teaches them in a way that they gain confidence BY antagonizing and other toxic traits. Not to mention the kids themselves have taken things to the extreme almost every time they encounter each other. It's just gang behavior lol.

"Barely"? Barnes didn't have a FREAKIN' clue how to counteract what Daniel did, so he wasn't a beast he was just a cheap Johnny repeat bully, who wasn't even a good fighter. That was a "real fight," Barnes went around hitting people that weren't even TRAINED FIGHTERS, he was a bitch bully. In real life, his ass would be in prison, if you have an advanced belt in Martial Arts you CANNOT START FIGHTS with civilians, it's against the law. In a "real fight," Robby would TROUNCE Barnes any day.

@@radicalreactions1633 Don't have to like him, but just recently rewatched Karate Kid 3 and he Messed Daniel up, in fact that Tournament fight he was roughing Daniel up bad, only reason Daniel won was because of scoring points Silver wanted him to suffer so he had Barnes just Rough Daniel up instead of scoring causing the time to run out putting them into sudden over time instant death match. Then Daniel was able to get the counter and score the one point in the match. He lucked out quit a bit that they were more interested in torturing him than winning.

It was amazing. This show offers showdowns I have been waiting for since I first saw the movies.

Actually they stated IN the movies that DIRECT face contact was illegal, so basically direct hits to the SIDES of the face with a punch or kick were illegal, but a kick brushing the nose wasn't. And in the show, they get away with ELBOWING people in the face so I guess there goes that rule.

Ralph Macchio is a baby face so it was believable for him to appear younger.. Silver is like 6'4" or something lol, looks way more like an adult back in the third movie and now with his literal silver hair here, he definitely looks older.

The goal was to cut his hair off, not hurt him. They could of beat the shit out of him when they had him pinned, or break his arm like Hawk did to Dimitri. The fact that they had him pinned down, at their mercy and all they did was give him a haircut is tame compared to what Hawk himself got away with. Besides, he had it coming.

@Drew McKenzie And still no where near as bad as what Cobra-Kai did when Hawk himself was a member, more often than not instigated by Hawk himself. Besides remember what Silver told Kreese when he said he had Robby under control 'Not from where I'm standing' Robby does what he wants, and the others follow.

I agree, it's fucked up what they consider to be the equivalent response to getting soaked with the sprinklers, but to their credit Hawk won't have physical signs of being assaulted (aside from the slight scuffle getting him pinned down) and they could claim he cut his own hair off. But it's a blow to his self esteem and also a message sent to the Miyagi-Do kids.

The cobra kai way that Robby WARNED Johnny about with Hawk still harassing Kenny, and as usual Johnny didn't listen, oh well.

Yeah he annoyed me this season. He is on his damn high horse, by the tournament is at it's worse.

Look at it from his mindset. Silver, yet another pscho from his past, shows up working with Kreese again. And his issues with Silver are MUCH more personal. Silver wasn't just an enemy, but he betrayed Daniel and fucked with him mentally for who knows how long. Seeing Silver back, its very understandable that Daniel is desperate to take over. Because he knows what Silver is like and capable. He was tricked by Silver. He doesn't want Silver to have any sort of advantage again. Its frustrating, but it makes perfect sense. And I think its just as frustrating that Johnny was throwing a fit because Daniel dared to become a mentor for Miguel.

He showed restraint, talked to Carmen about how he felt instead of sabotaging the Alliance like Daniel did.

I said it was frustrating, same as Daniel. You can be frustrated with someone but understand why they're doing something or feel a way. Daniel also clearly has some sort of PTSD or trauma from what Silver did to him. Im guessing you've never experienced that, which is a good thing
