It's so good to see someone defending Tory, but not excusing her actions. I understand exact what he said. Tory screws up A LOT, and so does Sam, but Tory seems to be the only one facing the consequences for it. Tory and Sam fought at school, Tory was expelled and almost sent to juvie, had to take another job to support her family and give up her passion (Karate) because she couldn't afford it, while Sam got SUSPENSION for 2 weeks and had her parents fight for her at the school assembly. Tory's got nothing, that's why she's consistently so mad, and probably why she hates Sam. The only thing she ever had, Miguel, Sam took away from her. Sam never deals with the consequences of her actions, but Tory does. Tory acts out on work when Amanda provoked her, she got fires. Sam provokes Tory during work, she also got fired. Tory has to fight for everything, we can't blame her for thinking the Cobra Kai way is the only way. While Sam never deals with anything. She just shits all over Tory over and over again and NOTHING happens. And STILL Tory seems to be the only one trying to be the bigger person. Not succeeding, but TRYING at least. #TeamTory ALWAYSSSS

This is not my opinion, this is from Reddit: From jump, Sam was the bad guy. She was letting people bully her best friend (Aisha) and were complicit in a hit & run, she started the feud with Tory (She accused Tory of stealing Amanda’s wallet) and continues to fuel it for no reason, she plays with boys’ hearts and cheats on them, she always plays the victim and blames everyone else, and she’s an instigator. The only reason people in the show and in the fandom cut her so much slack is because she’s painted to be the nice princess type. She’s still a great character but she’s also the villain. However, Tory has done worse stuff.

The only problem I have with Sam is her and Miguel had pretty similar problems they both were in the fight in school, both were attacked at sams house. yet Miguel is the only one that actually literally almost died from that problem yet he’s been able to move from it and grow as a character even tho Robby keeps on bringing it up. I always thought Tory was trying to scar Sam's face with that punch to the head. It makes sense in context of why they are fighting. Sam also kicked Tory over the railing about three seconds later. "Tried to paralyzed?" I don't think Robby tried to paralyze anyone. In season 2, Robby was the one stopping the fight and Miguel attacked him getting him off Tory. Right here, roles were reversed. And with the season 2 fight, Sam and Miguel kissed each other having significant others, Miguel was sober, Sam wasn't. Miguel had completely used of mind, but still kissed her. Tory started a fight, Robby tried stopping the fight, Miguel attacked. Miguel showed mercy, Robby didn't. They're all at fault. The Miguel and Johnny scene is devastating, but now we know how Robby felt everytime Johnny chose Miguel over him. How he felt Sam choosing Miguel over him. Once this season is over, Robby will be the one bringing everyone together.

No, the pool fight scene was a reverse of the school fight. In the school fight, Tory attacked first, Robby was the one trying to stop it (they've mentioned this so many times on the show itself too), then Miguel attacked him. Here in the pool fight, Sam attacked Tory, Miguel tried to stop it and Robby attacked him. Everyone seems to forget that between Robby and Miguel, the latter was always the instigator, twice at the beach, then at the All Valley when he pulled his already injured arm when Robby was literally being a good sport. And then at school. I'm not saying Robby was right for kicking Miguel off of the railing (even if this wasn't what Robby intended to happen), obviously he wasn't right, but in that moment, where Miguel started the fight between the two (Robby was also fighting off like 2 other dudes that day too), provoking him about his father and girlfriend he cheated with, a sorry or mercy wouldn't get through to anyone in the heat of that situation where a lot of emotions were charged and breaking through the surface.

I think Miguel taking the back seat, and having his motivations put aside to address the problems in other people's lives, is what builds up to him leaving at the end of the season. Everyone around him is either finding their way without him or showing conflict in their relationship with him, whether it's Johnny with the Robby namedrop, or Sam with her feelings around Robby, Hawk and Dimitri in a rival dojo together, his inability to pick the future he wants due to their financial situation, and then his mom and coach are developing their own happy love story while he hasn't gotten a chance to deal with his emotions surrounding his father, and he doesn't want that to make him hate Johnny.

Season 2 at the beach, tory, with aisha there, tries to befriend Sam. Sam judges tory, then later accuses her of stealing. When tory denies the stealing, Sam grabbed her and got pushed into a table. Robby knew who stole the purse and the thieves went to prison which means Sam must have known later that it wasn't tory who stole the purse. Did she ever apologize? No. She then kissed tory's boyfriend. So you can put the blame for the rivalry starting squarely on Sam. Tory trying to kill Sam later, is her only blemish (a rather large one)

The scroll that Chozen gave Daniel in season 3 is a new move we have never seen, yet. It looks like a picture of a guy with fire coming out of his hands. Anthony discovers it and Daniel takes it away from him and says hopefully they will never have to use it. But I think Anthony will use it to save his family in a future episode, possibly in season 6. I think it is the ultimate move.

Neither Tory nor Sam is in the right. They both carry so much responsibility. I like Tory this season. I mean really like, not just love to hate villain. Tory was the villain in the beginning, now they are more just antagonists in each others lives. Both doing terrible things. Just some notes on things that have happened... One thing about Sam you seem to have missed. She started to confess to Robby when bell rang. She kissed Miguel when drunk, feeling betrayed by Robby, and he did something very touching. Completely wrong, but in that situation you can see how it came to it. Plus Miguel kissed back. Your reaction to being hurt is still on you. Tory started the fight that led to all that damage. Robby tried to stop the fight there and Miguel kept it going, opposite to prom scene. As for Miguel showing mercy... I hate what happened to him, but it is a product of what was happening all season. I wish one right decision undid all damage, but that he paused once in an emotionally charged fight and said "sorry"... it is understandable that Robby couldn't immediately process that and forgive. It doesn't make Robby bad that it didn't break through fast enough. Back to the girls, if Sam is at fault for instigating with the kiss, Tory brought Robby to this prom for one reason, and that was to piss Sam off. Sam is embracing Johnny's style, because she is angry, and she deserves to be. I have still wanted to beat some sense into her. She took the wrong lesson from Aisha. There was a chance she could have been at peace with Tory, and changed Tory's life. Amanda is showing Tory options, and I think she wants to trust people. There has been a lot of backlash against Sam because of her background, and I get it. There are definitely some times she acted out of pure privilege. Most of it now is motivated by trauma and PTSD though, and privilege can't protect you from that. I love this show because the characters are complicated and real. There are no real straight up villains, and when you decide one is, you can bet they will find a way to make you empathize with them. The scene with Miguel and Johnny... I will be 😭😭😭 for years...

okay, but let's be honest johnny loves both of his "kids" but you can't shy away from the fact that johnny still feels like he screwed Robby's life up, if Robby's life never turned out the way it did johnny would be saying that he loved Miguel in that scene, you can see how much he cares for both of them in season 2 on the last episode you see the conflict he has having to choose between them, on one end you have your bio kid who you missed the majority of his life and want to make up for it and on the other, you have the kid that you help build confidence for and you overall feel like he's your own. The relationship that johnny and Miguel have is the same as Kreese and johnny but a lot healthier, Miguel's only father figure is johnny and so that's why that scene hurt him so badly especially after what Robby had said. but johnny honestly has it the worse when it comes to his kids because all of season 3 johnny was trying to help Miguel get back on his feet. After all, he felt responsible for what happened since the person who did that to Miguel was Robby.
