Is anyone gonna ignore the fact that Miguel had the balls to stand up to Kreese. I mean it's Kreese we're talking about and Miguel is the first out of his generation to speak up his mind against the King-Cobra himself. Another great reason why Miguel is one of the Top-5 Best Karate-Kid Characters.

According To Martin Kove, for season 3 of Cobra Kai, we're going to see that Kreese was bullied in his childhood, see the dreadful experiences he came across during his time in Vietnam, and see how all of that shaped his point of view as the ruthless sensei he is and why he believes you should never show mercy to your enemies.

Contrary to popular urban mythology, life is clear-cut and 9/10x the opposite of what it appears to be. The laws of non-contradiction must never be defied. There are never times to show mercy to your enemies. There are never times to do anything half-assed. Sensei John Lawrence taught his students the same thing until he started going soft when he started talking to his nemesis Daniel LaRusso, reconnecting with his son Robby Keene, and bonding with his student Miguel Diaz’s mom Carmen Diaz. If Sensei John Kreese’ students wanna blame Sensei John Lawrence for what Robby did to Miguel, they might wanna blame Carmen Diaz once they find out the influence she’s been having over him. Daniel LaRusso‘s mostly at fault because he refused to leave the past where it was. Sensei John Kreese is partially at fault because he refused to leave Vietnam where it belongs. Carmen Diaz is partially at fault because of her unrealistic influence on Sensei John Lawrence. I hope Sensei John Lawrence realizes this in Season 3.

I understand the statement very well hell Im actually one of those people. A lot school counselors thought I wouldn’t make it in high school because I had ADD. But let me tell you this I proved them wrong. But in the world their is such things as forgiveness, love and mercy. The world isn’t sunshine and rainbows yes but their is good in this world. But being merciless doesn’t make you weak or pathetic in crease’s mind he makes you stronger then the very bully that bullies the kid. Winning isn’t everything sometimes losing and actually help you grow as a person. It shows that in life we won’t always win but we do learn how to be better and how we can be winners in our own way.

In certain situations, mostly in the worst of situations, mercy is not to be shown to those who truly want to harm you or what you hold dear. When all you do is show no mercy, then all you're doing is going around thinking that any one who challenges you is in the way of what you want, and then you think that the other person doesn't deserve what they have, so you take it from them. You take, and you take, and you take and all that's left is that hole in your heart that makes you want more of what other people have. A real fighter doesn't take what they want, they earn it. You earn it with respect, honor, and integrity. If you show no mercy, then mercy will not be shown to you, and all that will be left of you is something beaten down and broken.

Kreese has yet to learn that whenever he has tried to fight or act dirty (literally or figuratively), it has drastically backfired on him every time. Examples: 1) Forcing Bobby to put Daniel 'out of commission' in the 1984 tournament despite Bobby pleading he could beat him the right way. Then Daniel ends up winning it all anyway. 2) Threatening Mr. Miyagi shortly after the tournament when he intervened to stop him from strangling Johnny then ending up with two broken hands and an empty dojo. 3) Conspiring with Silver and Barnes to get Daniel into the next tournament with intimidation tactics in an effort to get Cobra Kai re-emerged but end up failing miserably. Eventually he's going to re-abdicate Cobra Kai again somehow and it seems like the only way for it to become permanent is by Daniel and Johnny working together.

I felt really bad for Tori's backstory about her mom. And she was right. Life isn't fair & the world shows no mercy. So why should we? We have to take matters into our own hands. Differences, wrong choices, and hard times are caused by unfair and sometimes unforeseen circumstances. But don't let those circumstances cloud your judgement.

2 years later but I might have an answer to "why should we show mercy?" When you go with the flow you can't expect anything to change or to get better. We should show mercy to give others a good example, to tell them there is another way. The outcome would be obvious for those who want to see.

While Miguel breaking Robbie's arm would've saved him, you can't go around breaking everyone's arm on the off-chance that they're going to unexpectedly attack you, just as you can't pull a gun on every person you ever meet on the off-chance they could randomly attack you. Risk is a park of life but that does not justify threatening/injuring every person you run across "with no mercy"

I believe Terry Silver helped John Kreese steal Cobra Kai away from Johnny Lawrence. Given that he's a multi-millionaire, he has plenty of connections, which may also include Armand (the landlord of the strip mall the Cobra Kai dojo is on) and Tom Cole (Daniel's car dealership rival). I believe Terry Silver helped Tom Cole steal Daniel's workers (including Anoush) by promising them more money and better positions at Tom Cole's dealerships, in an attempt to bankrupt Daniel's business and to hurt him financially. How about this for a twist, because Daniel fired him in the first season, Daniel's cousin Louie, Jr. works for Daniel's rival Tom Cole. That would add even more dysfunction within the LaRusso family.

I have this exact theory. I definitely think Terry Silver has been helping Kreese behind the scenes the whole time, it would best explain how Kreese was able to own the dojo despite being "homeless" (I believe he faked that just so Johnny could see him at a low point, remember that Johnny didn't trust Kreese until that point). Not just that, but Terry had connections with a guy named Willie Cole in Karate Kid 3. Tom Cole could be a relative.

Yeah I was wondering if they were going bring in terry silver eventually. Really, unless Silver is dead or lost his fortune somehow, I dont think he would just let Kreese live in he gutter like that. Once Kreese took back Cobra Kai, not only through force but also legally appearantly, it definitely seems that theyll at least implicate Silver in some compacity. Idk about Barnes though, he was only like 19 or 20 at the time, people grow and evolve. If he does come back then theres a lot of possibilties of which direction to take that character, good or bad intentions.

Kreese escalated the situation which made it turn violent. He made a self fulfilling prophecy about an enemy you couldn't turn your back to because he created that enemy and situation. No mercy is not equivalent to keeping your guard up. And keeping your guard up only became truly necessary because Kreese made it that way. And Kreese's philosophy isn't good in the real world. What I mean by morals is that TV & movies like cobra kai teach you to do the right thing and be nice and put others before yourself, and good things will happen and the bad guy always looses, which is a false reality the world is not like that. I've been around the block I'm a bit older and I can tell the world is a pretty ruthless place. And sometimes in order not to be taken advantage of, one has to play ball and not be so nice. It's a shame really but it's the world we live in. And btw I'm just stating my opinion and I appreciate your opinion as well, you made some good solid points as well. Cheers

So I just watched Ip Man 4 and there is a Kreese in the marine's karate group, looks to be a new student under Scott Adkin's character. It takes place in the mid-60s so he would have fought in Vietnam. I'm sure it's not deliberate but would be a cool tie-in since Cobra Kai is very much the villain's style.

Kreese is the moat badass character in Cobra Kai and I do agree to his analogy on some points. I mean what would you expect from an anti hero. He's like a real life character with flaws and very likable, even his was 🔥!!! He literally looks like thanos without CGI hope he gets to work on more projects beside Cobra Kai, he's like a hidden underrated gem.

I gotta say Tory is right, life shows you no mercy so why should you? I have autism and life has fucked me over big time, I’ll get my revenge on everyone who has fucked with me, I got a list of all my enemies and I’m gonna get even one day

Kreese was right cause Johnny taught Miguel to be merciful towards enemy's and then when Miguel didn't listen to kreese he got sent straight to the hospital because he showed mercy towards robby I don't care if this doesn't make sense

That’s not because he showed mercy. There is a difference between showing mercy vs lowering ur guard. Never expect ur opponent that share ur sense of honor
