There’s something about this scene I love so much. Johnny isn’t wrong in the way he explained it because you have to remember this was decades ago. He’s obviously going to remember the bits and pieces that affected him. The way that is shot, the emotion, the acting, the music. I just feel like this scene is too real. I know all about life not working out as you plan. But I also know that Jesus Christ is there to pick up the pieces and help those who put their trust in Him. If you've never thought about doing that, I urge you to do so. It is the best decision and most important one all of us have to make.

@richardcarrier95368 ай бұрын
@@Pete_Finch I appreciate the kind words. Glad to hear things are going better for you. I imagine having a background in science and history might make it difficult for you to think about how Jesus Christ would fit in with all of that. But I would say, don't dismiss Him without looking into it for yourself. I have friends with doctorates in the science fields, with backgrounds in biology and chemistry who would be the first to tell anyone how Jesus Christ has changed their lives. As for me, I was very much a skeptic and a cynic when it came to religion. I saw the hypocrisies and it turned me off. But Jesus Christ is not about religion; He's about having a relationship with us. I would encourage you to take some time to study the Gospels and the New Testament and ask the Lord to show you if He's real. If you are willing to do it with sincerity and humility, He will make Himself real to you. And I'll tell you this - once you have an encounter with Jesus Christ, all the doubt and the skepticism just melts away. He is willing to make Himself real to all who seek to know if He is real. And He'll do that for you.

Oh it can be solved! Spoiler warning for anyone who has not watched the show! Johnny points only include the acts of aggression Daniel did to him while ignoring the acts of aggression he did in the same movie! While Daniel points only include the acts of aggression Johnny! Did to him while also ignoring his own actions, even going as far to make himself a victim of in certain cases. For example in the episode where Daniel blacklisted Cobra kai from joining in the all valley tournament, his main arguments were acts of aggression Johnny/Cobra kai did to him in the past! Which are some valid arguments but using Daniel logic against him he did an illegal kick to Johnny's face. Which should automatically shouldn't allow Daniel or Miyagi do to compete! And Robbie Daniel student kicked Miguel off the 2nd floor during the school fight, resulting in him having serve injuries! Now the argument can also be made that Cobra kai later became violent which proved Daniel's point, as to why Cobra kai shouldn't have been allowed to compete! But the same people that make this claim turn a blind eye to when Sam, Daniel, Robbie when he was under the leadership of Miyagi do or anyone else that is anti-cobra kai in the show becomes violent! Even going as far to make excuses for their violence by pointing to actions of Cobra kai violence, which does not justify reaction as 2 wrongs don't make a right. Which leads to both sides having conformation bias as to who is morally right when in reality no one really is.

I’m sorry, but the people who’s mantra is “No Mercy” are most likely the bad guys. This show completely cuts out the growth that occurred at the end of Karate Kid. All for the Kobra Kai kids turned their back on Kobra Kai when they realized how dishonorable and toxic it was. Remember when they all bowed to Mr. Miyagi and JOHNNY hands DANNY the trophy? The movie already showed that they had found a mutual respect for each other. That was the whole point. It didn’t matter who won or lost. They settled everything by giving their all on the mat. This series completely regresses both Johnny and Danny 8n the worst ways.

@Warvell12 жыл бұрын
@@andrewmiller3055 No; even with Kreese, they explain the origin of his behavior and his perspective. Despite at least one character (can't remember which. Larusso's wife, maybe?) saying he's a sociopath, they clearly explain how he lost his path due to PTSD from 'nam. Its clear he's an antagonist, but he's not blatantly evil. You could argue for a lot of the things he says, and we also might do well to remember that some of the lessons Johnny teaches due ultimately source themselves from Kreese. Kreese is fucked up and there's nothing to be done for it, but that doesn't mean there isn't a reason for his behavior. Kreese in this show is a good example of why sociopaths generally make shitty characters, no matter if you cast them as villains as heroes... You want depth to a character. Also, in season 3, when they were defending the tournament and all that, they (almost/in a way) showed Kreese, Danny, and Johnny as almost equal ideologies the way they cut between their speeches and showed them in the... whatever you call that anime/comic thing where you show a shot of one person in one location next to shots of other people in other locations. Kreese is wrong, but he's not completely wrong; in a war, you might have to make tough choices and you do want the best of the best and to win at all costs, more or less. Compare that to villains that just want power/whatever and come off conceited. Some villains aren't even enjoyable to think about, and people act like having an annoying villain is somehow a good thing, like that bitch in GOT who tore the letter from the king into pieces, but I guess not everyone agrees with me on that one. Still, he's not blatantly evil.

Johnny has improved so much from Season 1-4. I love seeing the bond he has with everyone around him. From Miguel to Daniel to Sam even to Robby at the end of Season 4. You can really understand why Johnny turned out the way he did. With his family and with the negative influence from Kreese. I know that he shouldn’t use that as excuse but I felt bad for the guy. I can’t wait to see what Johnny brings and with how he’s gonna do with Robby . Hopefully, it’ll be great.

I think a lot of you guys are missing the point. Of course Johnny's side of the story makes him look like the good guy. This feels very true to life. Most people only have selective memories, not to mention, our own perspectives where we usually view ourselves favorably. Add to that the fact that Johnny is recalling memories from 34 years ago whereas we're nitpicking after probably watching The Karate Kid within the past couple of years. Of course he's going to remember things wrong. And don't forget that Daniel, too, selectively edits his story to make himself like purely the victim. He doesn't mention turning the hose on Johnny or taunting him and his friends on campus. He exaggerates being pushed down a hill to being pushed down a "cliff". This is not to say Daniel is the "bully" or a bad guy. Neither one of them is truly a bad guy. They're both human. And remembering things differently, depending on our perspective, is a very human flaw.

Gotta love how well written this show is, Johnny went from being a one off villain in the original movie to a well written protagonist, I still argue there are both sides of the story and I like Daniel and Johnny equally especially by the end of season 2, I think they’re both great characters who are flawed and who’s hearts are in the right place while their heads aren’t, I’m ready for season 3 and I hope they can finally make amends for good

yeah but don't put the blame on some else . like guy the kick was legal, otherwise daniel wouldn't have won . also johny didn't mention important things and made Dany the bad guy : Dany didn't know that he had just broke up with her, he just flirted with her ... and the they started liking each other. also johny did play some kind of dirty karate when he kicked dunys leg. but under the influence of kreese ... kreese was the real bully but that can't really justify Lawrence's actions . of course daniel did wrong things too. but he was always between the barriers:good and evil . if johny had a teacher like Miyagi he wouldn't be like that. kreese is the bad guy in my opinion

The last one went too far but its still not like his doing any serious damage. the 1st too u can kinda see his point as the guy who is still not over his Ex. Daniel shouldnt have provoked someone stronger than him like when he sprayed water on him and after Johnny did leave him alone for a while. Whats even more dumb about the water spray incident is that Daniel could of just spent a great time with Ali at the dance instead of getting into dumb crap by antagonizing Johnny.

He's a guy with a certain character which he doesn't see as "problematic" because he hasn't been taught otherwise. He's just relaying the story as he remembers it. He's not lying. He just doesn't hasn't learned "perspective" and "empathy" and that colours the memories a bit. He's the rocket straight from the 80's. You must remember that Johnny is a loner. He was taught by dubious father figures and a friendship circle just like him, so he was in an echo-chamber all throughout his teen and adult life. After that, he went through life alone- never really learning anything other than how he was brought up. He remained a 16 yeard old kid, UNTIL Miguel walked into his life and he got the first real introduction to what life is like or look like, from people who have been brought up differently. This opens up a whole new phase of learning as Miguel causes him to be more and more exposed to things, people and viewpoints he never really encountered or experienced- and that's what changes him. He finally grows up and goes past 16.

William Zabka is absolutely brilliant in this series. And Johnny's "recollection" of events here that persuaded Miguel to believe Johnny was the actual victim is downright hilarious. 😂

The scene is so good that it makes me want to go back to the original to rewatch it in this context.

The show was dishing out red pills from start to finish. The last episode featured a confirmation of a similar point when the geeky kid said: "I can not believe this (being a 'bad boy') actually works"

They're cool Lol Man. It's PC culture people dislike. Not women and minorities.

As a woman, I have to recognize bad boys have something special, BUT I don't agree with the statement that women like to be treated like crap. We don't like to be treated like crap (I would hate it so much that I wouldn't feel attracted to the guy at all), we may like bad boys who are bad boys with OTHER PEOPLE, but never with us. And yes, I know that sounds like a complete lack of empathy and reeally selfish, but I'm talking about attraction, not about reasoning. I mean, in real life, I would NEVER be with a bad boy.

Lol Man - The fat girl has a name, and I don't see what's your problem about her. My only problem about her is I don't think it's realistic the fact that she competes in the same tournament as her males mates. She should compete in a female tournament. MrColuber - I'm software developer and I love the series. So, I'm PC culture and I don't dislike it. In fact, we're talking about a KZfaq series ¬¬. The fact that Johnny is so anti PC doesn't mean we can not love the character anyways XD.

I really love these moments for Johnny and Miguel Johnny tells him about his past and the current season he tells him that he doesn't know how to be a father

many people would argue with his legal right to defend himself but, I will not argue with that part of the youtube video, daniel is the real bully in the karate kid - just like danny had the legal right to defend himself after being shoved violently with the radio johnny had the right to keep the fight going though, de esculating the situation by leaving the scene entirely which was false as johnny was frustrated and heart broken and achieved his goals besides, how worse could he have made it - danny was already on the sand and wasn't getting back up. Johnny sure must have been angry when he saw danny again at the high school so johnny decided to get Danny booted off the soccer team using familiarity tactics - oh what a great bloke johnny was

He didn't exactly defend himself as they were both at fault. Johnny by starting the fight by shoving danny down with the radio and then proceeded to taunt danny and danny perhaps was scared johnny was on his way to stomp him nevertheless, johnny still had the legal right to keep the beach fight going

Johnny was still a bully but this scene is my favorite from the whole series. Amazing background song and love the nostalgic reminiscing vibe to this scene. I don't think I've felt this way like Johnny, but I feel many can relate and everyone probably has that feeling of something that you felt made you happy in the past. This type of scene is why I really loved the show especially season one. Season two was solid too, but I hope in season three they go to more of the drama side of season one which made me really love this show. Hope Season three will be really great like the entire show in general.
