Thanks. It's known as a banshee siren, like a rumbler but it's something a bit different and new. Sounds to me more like a yelp though.

Ugh watching people fail to yield ROW to Fire is so frustrating. At the same time though, all red lights on a red truck could get confusing. I worked EMS in two states and, while my ambulances weren’t red, there was a big difference in motorist reaction when I had red and blues vs just reds. Although cruising in a response convoy three trucks deep like these guys would help too haha.

Tiller 161 has a pump! That’s rare for a tiller. The only other department that I know of that has a tiller with a pump is Garfield Fire Department in New Jersey.

It's actually very common on the west coast. Known as 'quillers' they're a tiller quint. :) Whereas east coast only has about 5, Garfield one of them.

The thing that I hate about the fire trucks is that they have that annoying air horn type of siren 4:41, good thing the Tucson fire department doesn't have it because it sure is damn annoying. They usually have the Federal Signal like on 9:50.

EmiRachelNatalie he was homeless and was looking for somewhere to stay and got stuck. Thankfully a fire crew were attending a different incident on the highway and heard him calling for help, they got him out uninjured.

sirens are outdated tech,sirens were used before radios were invented to alert the towns people to come with buckets and help put out fire ,but today with radios they are counterproductive and only raise peoples anxiety including the driver of the police car or fire truck or ambulance ,flashers and a horn beep is all they need today ,the first responders dont want people to follow or come help so why use a siren ? if sirens were usefull then why not put them on semi trucks and ups trucks ,snow plows aand everything that goes fast ? police and fire and ambulance should use stealth aproach today so they donot cause anxiety in all the people ,if somebody is havin a heart attack they donot want all the neighbors to know ,it causes gaukers to arrive as well
