Cockpit Casual returns with a new video featuring a mission to repossess 2 aircraft, a Boeing 737-800 and a B767-300ER on behalf of a US Lessor from service in Russia. After sanctions were placed on Russia after its invasion of Ukraine, civil aircraft leases were cancelled and the western lessors scrambled to recover their aircraft assets from Russian airlines. Very few aircraft were actually recovered, but Nomadic was able to assist in recovering a hand full of them.
On this mission, Bob and Steve flew to Turkey to grab a Boeing 737 from Antalya and a B-767 from Istanbul after they were voluntarily surrendered. The aircraft were registered in the USA and relocated to Roswell New Mexico and Goodyear Arizona respectively.

I'm a C40 guy. We were at a local airfield working on the jet, they parked us way in the back next to some 777s. Being a bunch of 737 guys, we all wanted to check out the monster parked next to us. Nordwind. It was a Russian leased jet that had been there since February. It was looking rough, engine covers were torn to shreds.

It has shown a part of aviation I didn’t realize existed. Don’t know if it existed back in the 70s, but it’s something I would have considered. Of course, the equipment is far more advanced than it was then, making it more reliable. These are very entertaining. Keep them coming😉

This vlog had a very big emotional impact on me, as I empathize with all of the feelings you've expressed. I too have family roots in pre-Soviet Russia, have lived there over several years and been to a dozen of its cities. Like you, I feel great sadness for the country and many of its people, including dear friends, and even greater anger at the actions of Russia's government. I also felt some "pilot envy," as a private pilot, and the wonderful adventures you've been on. I've learned more on my own adventures through more than 65 countries (by train, bus, tuk tuk, and the occasional camel) than I ever did in University. A finally, as a former network broadcast journalist, I really appreciate the artistic and technical production quality of your videos. Thanks for all of it. So kind of you to share with the world!

Excellent presentation! Brought back great memories for me. I did my fair share of ferry flights 73s, 72s, 744s 75s and 76s from the mid 90s through the early 2000s. Did some sporadic ferry flights when living in Europe and Asia. Keep em flying boys.

These videos are badass! Thank you for making them. I am about to get my commercial license and start ferrying aircraft myself. However on a much more novice level! But these are very fun to watch while I’m getting ready for that. With the work life that’s displayed in the videos, I’m not sure how you have time to do anything else. But please make more!!

This is truly my favorite aviation content. I was so stoked when I found out another video was out. I Waited till finished my trip to watch it at home. Thanks for the video, takes me back 40 years to my time ferrying various aircraft to the middle east. Reykjavik and Keflavik were my preferred refueling stops (and RON.) Routing was rather simple back then but must be a real problem now days.
