This was a really good commentary hutch and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I myself did start to read the tao te ching earlier this year but had to stop due to exams and not having the time. Another interesting book about spirituality and a general way to be is the Celestine prophecy by James Redfield. You can not read it as a novel because it will disappoint you but if you take out little bits of it. It is definitely a great book.

Hutch, I really am enjoying the more "serious" nature of your last few videos. I just want to tell you that I appreciate the balls you have for actually doing commentaries on such a serious, controversial, and interesting matter. I'm 16 and, mostly because of spiritual pressures put on me by adult figures, I'm pretty much agnostic. And, while I have tried to learn more about other religions, I haven't really found the time or the drive. So yeah. Thanks for giving the brief explanations.

"He who stands on tip toe doesn't stand firm" Don't assume that the ninja perk makes you invisible. "He who rushes ahead doesn't go far" When rushing; you'll be closer to your opponents and can get away with using a more powerful short range weapon; such as a shotgun or smg. "He who tries to shine, dims his own light" Worrying about your k/d in an objective based game will anger your team and make you lose the round. That's some solid advice.
@DevlinEdora14 жыл бұрын

When Lao-Tzu ditched the town to go on his spiritual journey he left on like a blue ox.. I dont really know what this means but he did. Also it is said that Confucius and the Buddah actually met up with Lao-Tzu before. When Confucius met Lao-Tzu he was astounded by how amazing Lao Tzu was. Lao Tzu also actually tutored the Buddah when he left the town.

Wow man. I have seen you around on COD videos but I never knew you thought like this. I was also a sociology major along with cultural studies and philosophy but ended up dropping out too. I love being able to understand the ideology and cultural conditioning that has formed the way we think and act. I doubt you'll see this comment, but if you do, I just wanted to say I really appreciate your more philosophical discussions and hope you will continue to include them. Thanks :)

Hutch. Im going to be a freshmen in highschool this year. In the 8th grade, my histroy teacher taught us TONS of things about the Doa and Buddhism. He taught us that (in a way) doaism (correct my spelling) is basically about coming one with nature in a sense. because back in that time, there was confucionism (again with the spelling)which taught that you were supposed to work for others and never yourself. In a way, it taught that you were to give your life in some way shape or form, for (cont.)

My history teacher once spoke about how we learn history and why we do it. And she stated that in the US the history their students learn is only centered around them selves, despite that USA haven't existed for far too long. However, in Sweden we learn about the whole world's history, to understand why some stuff today happens. And this is in my opinion very important. Still, I do look up to the US for a number of reasons, and I do not mean to make myself look better than others in any way.

My dad's pretty much a taoist so I know a thing or two about it. but I still like setting high goals for myself. I think there's a big difference between having a big ego and believing you can change the world. Sometimes I think my dad is kind of lazy because he prefers to be moved by the current of the tao, but it doesn't always seem that there is much of a current.

I think that it might be a good idea for you to mention some of the practices that are associated with these religions and how they tie into their origins as long as you're talking about how the religions came to be. I studied taoism a bit after i visited a temple, and I think that discussion of contemporary practices might increase understanding and acceptance. I really like the idea by the way. The gameplay is an interesting backdrop for an important and though provoking discussion.

Hutch, you should really make this into a mini series. Each week you go over a new religion and make as many videos as you can talking about it. I'm sure this is bringing a new perspective into people's minds about other religions instead of people being single-minded about religion. This is a very interesting subject, and I aspire to be an Anthropology major. Keep the videos with religion up!
