This video goes over the main features I wanted to code after purchasing a new BMW F30. There are some things that are just annoying that come with the car from the factory. My question is, is there any diference between this adapter and the OBDLink CX (the one recommended for BimmerCode)? Will it provide more options for coding??

No shouldn’t provide more options for coding. The OBDLink CX is more expensive but also comes with the OBDLink app. If you choose the veepeak just make sure it’s compatible with your car, and you’ll be able to see everything

I've just bought the app and vgate icar Pro. It let's me change all the codes, even restarts ecu, but none of the settings actually carry over. What am I doing wrong???

What car do you have? You hit code and it reset the ecu, then turned ignition off and then started the car?

Yes if you haven’t deleted the app it should still have a backup file. Connect to the car, select a control unit you changed, click “backups”, to undo all coding in the selected control unit, select the last backup at the bottom of the list. Tap “done”. Then tap “start coding”. Hope this helps!

For some reason on my "air conditioning" it says ; "error memory contains critical" so I can't adjust my a/c... How do I fix it? Thank you 🙏🏻

Mine says the same thing, but doesn't indicate an 'Error' on other scanning apps I have. I just disregard it. Just happy the damned 'Foglight' error is gone after changing to LEDs.

Thanks for the great video, but I don’t know if you could help me with this that I’m kinda frustrated with the Veepeak OBD adapter, I tried coding my 7 series g11/g12 which most the codings are not available on BimmerCode because of the adapter such as “This control unit is not accessible with this used OBD adapter” even with Headunit, it says something like it can’t be done because it’s not original state.. Thank you you in advance.

Hi After Bimmercode app coeding bmw f30 i got an error message with negative 260 tkm "inspection check' with 2004 year, car is 2013/14! Before coeding all the stuff like in video it was normal with next service message at 2023 year?! How to return that back or delete error, with button cluster i reset and it comes back after few minutes.

I keep getting “connection error” I followed all steps and plugged it in fully. Do you have any recommendations on what could possibly help?

Make sure your other Bluetooth connections including iDrive are disconnected. Restart your phone. And also make sure the adapter you are using is compatible with your car and phone. Let me know if that doesn’t work

is it really a bad thing to turn on the auto folding mirrors thing ? I lock my car max 4 or 5 times a day, is it really gonna kill the miror motor ?

Ehhh I mean it all depends. I just prefer having the peace of mind of having them turned off. Sometimes I need to grab something out of my car really quick and that’s a waste of the motor IMO. But overall I don’t think it’s a huge deal. Just preference

@@skrrtproductions so after some research and talking to several owner, skipping folding mirror to save the engine ks irrelevant. It's like avoiding to open the window to save the engine or avoiding to use the turn signal to save the bulb. Though, there is one common issue regarding folding mirror : it's when it's freezing cold outside. So when it's very cold, better to let the mirror unfold since they can get stucked

Right, not a huge deal, just preference. Your windows don’t automatically open and close each time you lock and unlock the car though. Same with the turn signals. Turn signal bulb is what $20? Lol

So I just did the coding with obd adapter and using dimmer code. Does this void my warranty? Do I have to take it off when im taking it to maintenance?

No it shouldn’t void warranty since you’re activating or deactivating features the car already has. No, you won’t have to recode going in for maintenance.

Yeah should still work because you’re not tuning the DME. You will be coding other modules in the car

Oof, I have not. Definitely read the codes if you have any sort of scan tool. I use Bimmerlink. Could just be coincidence and unrelated to coding. Let us know. Best of luck

@@skrrtproductions I read codes with Foxwell BMW scan tool and no errors… car drives fine. When I did the folding mirrors I got a lighting error and drivetrain at same time. Hope just a glitch

I got a chasis malfunction while it was in the process of restarting ecu, but then it was gone after

@@ruufiss9922 sometimes after coding a specific control unit, it’s reset and not reachable for the other control units in the car for a short amount of time. Those type errors should disappear after turning ignition off and on again

This dude gonna mess his car up definitely have to running or connected to a trickle charger you don’t have to put your seatbelt on or none of that crazy stuff and never code more than 2 things at a time you don’t want your ECU fighting each other

@@skrrtproductions i’ve had my car battery completely die and screwed up my ecu because of not having it charged. be carful, had to have my ecu reset by bmw for 300$.

@@slow_328i thanks man. My car is fairly new and the battery is healthy so I didn’t feel the need to hook it up to a battery. Of course that’s the safest way but coding with bimmercode doesn’t take too long. If you’re doing a flash tune for the first time and the software has to unlock the DME then yeah I definitely recommend hooking it up. Idk I personally wasn’t worried, and haven’t had any issues on this car or my last

Hey bro! I know it’s been awhile since you made this video, but i’m just now coming across it! I’m looking to do a bumper swap from the F30 stock style to either the M sport or M3 bumper. And i’m thinking about “deleting” my fog lights and front PDC (I would like to keep the back parking sensors) Is that something I could code out using the same method you did?

Yes for the fog lights, I actually did a video on that where I deleted mine. Not sure about the PDC though. I would leave those alone if your car came with them, might as well retain that feature
