Unfortunately if he keeps this same schtick that he’s been doing in his rivalry with the rock. I could see the crowd turning on him. This is coming from someone who likes Cody and I wouldn’t turn on him but not everyone is like me. This rivalry that he’s about to have with Aj styles is Cody first test as champion. But if Cody keeps doing this same old politician type talking I could see the crowd turn on him and root for aj. Especially with this new character that Aj has been playing. Once they win, it doesn’t have intrigue anymore… Rey Mysterio ‘06 got squashed by Mark Henry and Khali after his emotional win for Eddie, Jeff Hardy ‘08 lost the title one month later, Daniel Bryan ‘14 got injured less than two months after his big WM win, Kofi ‘19 title reign was lackluster and lost in a disappointing way, Johnny Gargano story after winning NXT title wasn’t the same anymore and lost to Adam Cole in less than 2 months, Hangman Page’s storyline was wayy better when he was chasing the title than when he was the champ

Saying that the Attitude era never had storytelling is definitely false, if it was bad tv then they would’ve never succeeded leaning to the ruthless aggression era. If that was the case then the tv ratings wouldn’t be skyrocketing in each episode like how they wwe is nowadays by selling out arenas. Hot take: If he comes back, Uncle Howdy should dethrone cody. That way Cody doesn't have a long reign to the point where fans possibly turn on him, and iirc, bray was champion before Roman won the title, so that could be some nice storytelling. I also think Cody could win it back, and become a 2-time champion to end the feud.

The attitude era didn’t have stories? Wtf are you talking about? It’s entire focus was simple stories, which is why it had 10 million viewers every week. Since Triple H and Stephanie took over, in 2000, it’s been losing viewers consistently. This is a matter of fact… why? Because the stories don’t make sense or don’t exist.

The first hot-take shows that the guy is just pissed that the champ is not some black-haired bearded 270+ pound guy. These types of people are those people who had the notion that only their guy should be the champion no one else is acceptable. They don't want to put others over to move the story forward, they just want their guy to keep on winning, be on top, and never put over anybody.

Look, Cody has been boring these past two weeks. It's not his fault, though. You're coming off of the Rock inserting a fucking NUKE into the hottest angle in the WWE and then bouncing. Not only is the "Final Boss" gone after entertaining everyone on levels we haven't been entertained at in years, even Roman and Seth are taking time off. So, it's just Cody out here cutting boring ass "thank you" promos. He needs something to do and FAST. Because he's trying to fill the shoes of the Tribal Chief. A guy who led the WWE to new levels post-Cena. Roman is a true legend and icon. You can't be coming out here cutting boring promos trying to fill the Tribal Chief's shoes.

Long time pro wrestling fan here. Known of cody since his stardust days; while I will not say he’s the worst ever. Can anyone point out what makes him great? He’s definitely not the best in the ring, his moveset is average at best. His promos whether they’re scripted or not aren’t compelling no matter how many times he cries. It’s been rinse and repeat with him; he tries to sell you that he’s the best wrestler in said promotion and that just wasn’t the case when he was in ROH, NJPW, and lastly AEW. Add that he doesn’t want to ever be a heel and now you’re cutting options and possibilities in half. This isn’t hate, just someone who’s ahead of the curve.
