When I first started sales, one of my main jobs was scheduling appointments with dream customers.
The problem was that these people usually had no idea who I was or why they should take time out of their day to meet with me.
So I asked around the office to figure out what other people were doing…
But to my surprise, everyone kept giving me vague answers like, “Just send them an email.”
I understood that from a high-level perspective, but WHAT was I suppose to write in the cold email.
And what do I need to do to get RESULTS??
What I did next went on Google and learned how to send a cold email and LinkedIn messages.
After a few weeks of trial and error, I finally learned how to blow up my calendar with meetings.
Step 1) Identifying Your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) - You must know who you're selling to and why they should buy. You must be as specific as possible when it comes to B2B sales. Understand their pains, problems, and challenges and match those pains with your solutions. Your cold email or LinkedIn message must address a burning pain and tease a solution if you want to increase your response rate.
Step 2) Your What - What product or service will you be offering. Think about what your CORE offer is. You need to be specific as possible, and you do not want to provide every time of service or product you have available to sell. Ask yourself, what is your product or service, what does it do, how does it work, and what problems does it solve.
Step 3) Finding Your Why - You must find a reason for WHY someone should respond to you NOW. Are they experiencing a burning pain that needs to be solved with your solution immediately?

I know choosing good wording for your email subject is something other people would regard simple but for some like me, getting the right subject line wording that captures attention of the receiver might be a bit daunting. Cold email is still alive and one of the best practices when done right. Just always make sure that the prospect receives your messages. Until now, there are still those who buy leads, and it's saddening that most of the leads are really bad. That can be avoided if you build your own leads.

Hey Patrick, love your videos on cold emailing. I’ve been consistently revising my strategies and you put things into terms that’s very comprehensive and to the point. Just a quick questions, how many cold emails should one be sending per day, what days are optimal to receive those emails and how to keep things optimal to keep your email health high?

As of now, 70 emails per day max. This includes follow ups

Hi. The subject line should be customized based on the actual intro line or from the body of the email. Create the subject line after these two. I hope this helps

A few things missing from this that I'm hoping for a bit of clarity on. Can any regular Linkedin member cold email any other member, or is some kind of special account needed? And are we talking about researching each prospect and sending an email particularly about them, or creating an email template that goes out to everyone you reach out to?

Well It's clear that on email is better if you use personalized emails. This doesn't mean you need to make each and every single email different. You just need to show that you know about the company and that you are making a personalized offer for their case. In my case I email restaurants and coffee places. They're really similar so I barely change the whole email script.

I’m sending cold emails and they are reading the email, some even read it twice. But....they are not replying. I actually tell them how they can get ahead of their competitors. What business owner doesn’t want that??? I end it with reply so I can schedule a free video call or I can meet you to show you how this tool works. So what am I doing wrong???? Btw, I just talk about one item in the email . I am not even targeting big companies like you are talking about. I address their pain points also. So.... HELP PLEASE!!!!!

I am adding lot of leads in opportunities but many of turning down the proposal saying “we are going in different direction” “we want to keep it in house” its not like that i dont explained USP’s but still what is happening if u already figured out. Please advise.

Patrick, thanks for the video. I am a sales/account manager of commercial outdoor power equipment. I sell products and services alike. My main focus is on mid to large size commercial landscape contractors. I have made a few appoints from my Linkedin profile. With the decline in being able to just show up at a business on a cold call, I am wanting to take advantage of my Linkedin connections and grow my sales. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
