How’s it holding up now? I absolutely love this knife I’ve wanted it for years I was going to get a timber rattler Bowie at first but now I can afford this knife that seems to be significantly better, I love the cutlass look it has to it, there’s a sword by cold steel with a very similar look my friend had it but they’re the same price

Just to clear some things up about the Cold Steel 1917 Frontier Bowie. Got mine last summer and I love the big muthering knife. Hell I'm wearing it right now. As for where and who made it. It is made for Cold Steel by Windlass Steelcraft of India. They do a pretty good job, except most do not come with a good edge. But that can be fixed if you know how to sharpen a knife, or know some one who does. This is a BIG knife and primarily made to be used as a weapon.

I just got the 1917 cold steel Bowie myself although the sheath is attractive it doesn’t feel very rugged I found out that the nylon sheath that comes with the Cold Steel 13 inch tanto machete fits it perfectly it’s a little more rugged and less apt to be damaged while using this knife in this sheath, - and by the way I absolutely love the cold steel tanto machete 13 inch I bought two of them feel so great in the hand

Others say its Sharp and perfect fit & finish. The Knife You have Looks Awesome! I'd like to order from your supplier. @@codyjohnston8074 I got one of the early batches and I had to work on the edge my self. It was pretty dull and I'm sure it was the Manufacturer in India that screwed up. CS offered to sharpen it if I sent it in, but I just did it myself. I'm sure CS had them do it right with the batches afterwards. How did the one you ordered come out?

It really depends on what you want it for and how it will be carried. If it's going on a belt as a camp knife, the Case. If you're putting it in your pack and you really need to decimate a family of small trees, the Cold Steel. Also think about your conditions. If you plan on it getting wet daily, the Case may be better.
