Also your best bet is to ditch the factory screws and get some nice round head screws from a hardware store. I do this on all my warhammer mods. 👌🏻

Great review. Not sure if it was noted or not but the main difference between gen1 and gen2 is that gen1 has a flat hammer face where as gen2 has the aggressive checkering. Gen2 is much better designed for use as a weapon because of this.

Thank you! And thanks for the information on the hammer face. That explains a lot of the difference in the hammer damage videos I've seen. Thanks again!

I’m actually pretty happy to hear that it comes un assembled, because I want to refinish the handle a red mahogany and re do the head with a hammered silver finish. Part of wanting it for me is the project it’s going to be. The other part is for “random destruction” lol.

I certainly didn't know we had to put it together. No big deal, but I'm glad you included that information in. How do you find the shock from the handle now that you wrapped it ? Is it substantially more comfortable now ? I was considering buying one because hammers are one of those weapons I have absolutely no training with and I would like to remedy that... But that will obviously imply having to hit hard targets with it.
@NutjobwithaMachete
@NutjobwithaMachete 8 жыл бұрын
If you're using the hammer, there's no shock now, but you still feel it when using the spike. Mostly it's due to the shape of the handle - that ridge digging in a little bit. Still, with that wrap it's not too bad. Thankfully, these are great for people with no training. Plus they're pretty fun. Thanks for watching and thanks for asking!

This is such a cool weapon. I just got mine and I’m gonna sand and stain the handle before assembling it. Mine didn’t come with instructions but it seems pretty self explanatory. I gotta ask, did you use the set screw on your’s and how did you get the screws in on the langets? I’m thinking drill the holes before screwing them in?
@NutjobwithaMachete
@NutjobwithaMachete 5 ай бұрын
I did use the set screw to originally hold the head in place during assembly, but it's fallen out since then, so I guess you don't really need it 😂. I predrilled the holes on the langets and put a drop of expoy in before screwing them in place. You can also rough the back of them and put expoy back there, but it's not really necessary. I hope you like it. Let us know how it goes.

@@NutjobwithaMachete Awesome man, thanks for the reply! Before I even assembled it or anything I just slipped the hammerhead on the handle and tested it on a dead tree. It’s definitely beastly and now that dead tree is smashed in half right across the middle!

I have purchased as well this hammer just the other week. Unfortunately, here in Europe those items are always more priced than in the U.S (say even $30 to $60 more, depends). I have still to assemble that. Do you think I should put a wedge (like with axe) for the head or it's good no matter? :-)
@NutjobwithaMachete
@NutjobwithaMachete 5 жыл бұрын
Chris LXXIX I wouldn't suggest that in this case. The head should be held in place fine without it and it'd just introduce a fracture point on the handle. Thanks for asking.

That thing could make quite the self defense cane. The spike could be the handle.

@NutjobwithaMachete
@NutjobwithaMachete 4 жыл бұрын
I-Theist pretty close, but you’ll want your weight on the shaft for this one. Resting your weight on steel isn’t all that comfy.

it's the perfect tool for stacking wood. the spike is pickeroon and the hammer taps the wood pile into place. basically you can stack and entire cord of wood without ever having to bend over or even touch the wood

Nutjob with a Machete ... Its what i would do with one to be honest. Use as a cane/walking stick. And it doubles as a self defense weapon if you need it. Though i walk alone in the woods/forest all the time too. I've come across pumas/cougars, bear, etc while out there...
@NutjobwithaMachete

+Brian Mccann Usually I bring a walking stick of some sort when I go out to the bush. I'll also carry my bushman if I'm going somewhere with bears or puma, just in case. It'd be interesting to take this on a walk in the mountains...

Nutjob with a Machete ... I was thinking the same thing. Except, its Forest, Woods, Swamps only were i live. lol. Though i may get the Spike Hawk with a 30" handle instead or Rifleman's Hawk with the 30" handle for greater power/control over the heavy head...
