Before loading the car take a walk through this campground to know what you're getting into. See what equipment to bring for your site and where you desire to be. This video reviews the campsites & campground features. Just an FYI I'm a regular at this Campground. See you out on trail...

Thank you. That is still as beautiful a place as it was over fifty years ago.....we spent alot of time there the summer of ‘71 when Dad lost his job, and we would go camping with a canvas tents and sleeping bags. What a fun time of my life, and that creek was so cool, to swim in, and so fun to hike on s sunny day with Mom ,Dad and sister. We spent so much time camping, swimming andhiking there that year that for years after, mentally ii could walk that creek for half a mile i guess, in my memory. Thank you. I shared it with somebody who would be delighted to get to spend time there with me should we get the chance. For now, it’s just a walk down memory trail;

Two of the camp sites have hazard trees, we're trying to get permission to pull them to ground and buck them up.

Questions: 1) "Camp Host" - that's the polite-speak for the Forest Ranger? 2) RE: your FYI, have you ever seen a sleeping hammock in camp, stay up, or heard of the #1(above) enforcing the camper to take it down? - - "Asking for a friend."

The camp host lives at the campgrounds year round. From my understanding he's not a forest ranger, more like a campground manager and contacts forestry when necessary. As far as sleeping hammocks I've never had a problem. We hang day hammocks to relax in so I'm sure a sleeping hammock would be fine.

Thanks for the video, is there a place in Southern California that you can hike into and have a river or stream for water source?

You will need to take out a permit at the trailhead. The river only goes in so far and then splits off from the trail. I have heard there's a running spring at the trail camps further up. I haven't explored this region too well because my kids can't tolerate it.

The best recommendation I can give is to go up on a Thursday. But with life and work, going as early as you can is the second best option. :)

Can you camp in rv here

Yes! But I'm not sure of the size requirements. A large RV may not fit, most slots are a bit small. If this campground doesn't work you can always go up to Crystal Lake Campground.
