Mr. Walters, many have recommended the small documentary that BTS and Coldplay did for this song. While it’s not in-depth like this program, you’ll get plenty of answers of who’s singing. Also Suga did take vocal lessons, im sure all of them have at this point. So there’s many solo songs he’s done where he’s proved he can reach high notes. One of them is called Life Goes On. There is a stage mix you can watch from his concert. 💜

@@sc33h3o3 if he's interested in vocals, I noticed a huge difference when I watched it. I didn't know if Chris's sound/mic was difference or what. It's interesting for him to watch it as a musician to perhaps explain the situation.

To be honest the sound at the AMA s was really bad for some reasons, the people there in the crowd said that it was better live than what we heard on tv. It felt like there were sound issues and for sure I've heard both BTS and Chris sound a lot better than in that specific instance.

"outsung" is still striking me as a bit strange to be concerned about? are you saying "volume", well, much of the song it was one-note-harmony with 8 voice and 7 of them were BTS? and like the other poster said, the sound was off, which is evident bc Jimin's mike was not working at one point when he sings in unison with RM. if "outsung" refers to singing quality or intonation, there were a couple moments where you can hear a bit of slight flatness, one of them was chris's note, but.....again, not sure what the concern is. it's really hard to sing one-note harmony in unison, let alone with 8 voices, add onto that jumping up and down, no amount of rehearsal on treadmills while singing prepares for an irregular performance with 8part one-note-harmony while jumping upNdown, and then add some bad sound engineering. not sure what "outsung" means if not volume, but this is a very irregular situation all around.

@@sc33h3o3 I'm sorry you don't like my vocabulary. It was just a noticable difference in their sounds and vocals on stage. He should watch it and make his own opinion. Just like you have your opinion and I have mine, etc. If you want to harp on a word, that's definitely your perogative and I respect you have your own thoughts. But it's not going to bother me and you shouldn't let someone else's words bother you. It's just a word and it's just my thoughts. Doesn't have to be anybody else's thoughts.

10:36 that was Jin. In the official live u won't hear it clearly coz AMA's sound suck. BUT there was a fancam of their live which u can clearly hear them all more than the official video performance and see Jin singing this part.

Hi Nathan, it's Jimin who hit the high note in the harmony. You can check the Coldplay X BTS Inside 'My Universe' Documentary. At 8:11, it shows Jimin and JK recording that harmony part. And I hope to see your reaction to Jimin's Lie. 😁

@Nathan Walter’s - the one belting “you are my universe and” was Jin. At 9:55 of your video. When they recorded the track in Korea, Chris Martin specifically chose Jin and Jimin to provide the high notes in the background.

When Suga is rapping it is Chris Martin and Jimin rapping with him. He did it with Jin in The Astronaut also singing Korean with him.

you should go watch the documentary about My Universe. you’ll see how they worked on the song and recorded it. Cold Play had gone to Korea especially to work with BTS on this song. you’ll be able to see and hear who’s singing and who’s recording the harmonizing and background vocals. 😊😊😊 and yes. all of them take vocal lessons. all of them. even the vocal line who are already good in singing still take vocal lessons. and also yes, that was suga sing-rapping that high part but also jk who always does background vocals for their songs 😊😊😊 jin, jimin and v alternate in doing adlibs too. in this case i think it’s jin (someone pls correct me if i’m wrong)

the high high part that was "belting" out was Jimin! He did the higher harmonies and you can hear/see it better in the behind the scenes documentary of making My Universe! It's a great doc of how the collab managed to happen and how coldplay went to korea to record the song in person with BTS

Both Jin and Jimin did the harmonies as Chris asked them. Jin is the belter in the chest voice, Jimin in the higher softer voice. Jin is known to be the belter in the group (King of Belts) and to me the chest belt sounds more like Jin’s voice, but you clearly hear Jimin belting a higher belt though less powerful as well. Both did a great job. Jimin harmonised with others in other parts of the songs as well.

The "put you first" and "-first and" high notes are sung by Jimin. You will usually find that Jimin is the one singing chorus and high notes (although in many songs other vocalists do it beautifully too). Jimin is also known for the capability of reaching a few octaves higher than average males and most of us ARMYs find it hot. (I am flexing in the place of Jimin 'cause I know he will never do it.) They are all together belting that part you thought. Also when you said you didn't know what they were saying in the background, they are saying eyes. Yes, it is suga in higher vocals in the back ground of him rapping . There's a video of Chris and BTS in a circle belting out the part you referenced.

LOVE this!! BTS has a couple really fun songs: Baepsae - JHope has some super fun adlibs that would be fun to listen to by themselves. Also Anpanman, Go Go, and So What are really fun songs.

That was fun, thanks 😊 i like getting a chance to see music production unpacked like this. Yes Yoongi can sing that high. I think he sings that high in their song Telepathy from the BE album. That AI tool sounds fascinating. You might find it interesting to unpick the BTS song Paradise. It’s a neglected gem, built on a beat that someone made and sent to them, and their producers turned it into one of my favourite BTS songs. The production is really interesting and very very layered (to my untrained ear, anyway 😅).

Chris chose Jin and Jimin to harmonise with him, they are both belting it, Jimin is the high softer voice and Jin is the chest voice. Jin is the one in BTS known for having a powerful belt and has been nicknamed ‘King of belts’. You can hear them both harmonising in the chorus.

@@jackcomeback1758 He chose them both because their voices suited the chorus for harmonising. You can hear Jin belting it with Jimin a layer on top, brilliant, just like Zero o clock. They blend well together and sound fantastic when they belt together.
