I collect and use the Blue Cornflower . I have at least 50 pcs. I also have the white electric plate and use it avidly. I have multiple size cassarol bowls with lids, pie pan, a couple meat loaf pans with lids , large cake pan, large narrow bread pan/loaf pan, coffee pots, frying pans, teapot etc.. I love my Corning Ware.

@@SandBrat I can't give you a lot of info on the elec. plate. Just my experience. I only use the Corningware to cook on it. I have fry pans and cassarole pans and they can be used on it. I like it because it cooks ok but it doesn't fry things to an oblivian. I've never boiled water for spaggetti so can't tell you if it does well with that. But I fry meat in it . Fry hamb for chili and cook the chili on it. Cook a roast on it. Fry chicken and make chicken gravy for chicken on a biscuit. The temp guide is on mine so I know what to use but I just go with what has worked for me. I love it.

WARNING!! I had a complete set of all the original blue cornflower corning ware. I amassed it over the years. Five years ago I sent two casseroles to my sister who was ill. Her nephew returned the casseroles and lids-----she washed them and put them in a paper bag. It was Feb. and the weather was cold. On the way to my house (5 min. away from hers), one casserole simply exploded----with shards of glass all over the car, and a large one lodging in the dashboard. Her nephew had to go to the ER to have some small pieces of the casserole removed from the back of his neck. No more corning ware casseroles for me! In another case, another cousin had the large blue cornflower coffee pot. It blew up on the stove, sending shards of glass all over the kitchen----some were stuck in the walls, while others lodged in the cabinet doors-----that's how intense the explosion was. PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU WANT TO USE THE ORIGINAL BLUE CORNFLOWER CORNING WARE. IT'S A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN.

So many patterns I've never seen in all my travels!---I have, occasionally, added to my Corelle dish set from my wedding in 1971. It's rare that I find Corelle in my area, or Corning cookware either, which says something about owners not readily giving up their pieces. On my bucket list of places to see is the Corning Museum of Glass. I've been on several Celebrity cruises that have the Corning Hot Glass studio on the top deck, & have pieces from the shows!

Hi, I HATE to be the one to say this but....Best research which pattern and what year your Corning/Corelle was made. Last summer, I purchased a large group of Corelle ware ("Indian Summer"). When I googled to see if was dishwasher safe, a list of warnings appeared. I had no idea. After 2005, your dishes are lead free. Prior, the paint may contain toxins (Lead, mercury, cadmium). It is advised that dished before 1978 NOT be used but for decoration only. Especially, do not use damaged/worn/faded pieces as the chemicals can leach out into the food. I returned my dishes as I have young grandchildren and didn't want to take any chances. Just wanted to pass this along to ALWAYS do your research.

I use vintage Corning Ware and do not fear it. I have also read about the lead issue. Any lead based paint was only used on the outside decor. It did not touch the food area. People won't be licking the decor and it doesn't rub off onto your hands. The inside surface is sealed and safe. It has never been proven that people have been harmed or died from using vintage Corning Ware. I have used it for yrs. and still do and I'm still alive and over 70 yrs old. People who fear lead on Corning are over reacting. imo.

I bought a new corelle set from Kroger. I dropped a dinner plate and it broke into a hundred pieces. I bought it for it's reputation of being strong and unbreakable. My SIL said hers broke as well. It breaks like glass, it shatters. Luckily it didn't get into the food I was preparing.

I have been picking up some nice pieces, but I always grab lids whenever I run across them. I had four lids that I paid ten dollars for and I sold them to my friend at the family price of sixty dollars, before I could even clean them up. By the way I use a jeweler's silver polishing cloth for the final shine and I know that it really is worth the effort and they cost about seven bucks and a couple of my cloths are maybe four years old. I was at 2 estate sales this morning one I was in line at before they opened, the other I was at 30min after opening. At one I found a 2 quart spice of life with lid (as well as the 1 quart spice of life). An older gentleman tried to guilt me into giving them to him because he said his wife sent him for the 2 quart. At the other estate sale I found a 1 quart blue Corning with lid (as well as the 1 quart measure cup). Surely these cannot be the sought after ones? No way I could have hit it out of the park on my first time going to an estate sale? The houses were in very nice, older neighborhoods but Something must be different with mine, I bet..

A lot of the high dollar sold eBay listing you’re showing I believe are items listed and sold buy nefarious sellers trying to hype up the value. Many of them have no feedback or selling history at all. Buyer beware and look for feedback. The market is flooded with spice of life items under $20 so why would you spend $1k-10k for the same thing?

The inflated prices you quoted are scams. Please do not perpetuate these inflated values as they are not real. P.S. Human traffickers use different online platforms to 'sell' their illegal activities. Wayfarer, Walmart, eBay, to name a few.
