I have a ton of old vintage Benchmades from the late 90s and early 2000s. I was lucky enough to find a pawn shop that, for whatever reason, got pre-production run models in routinely. It was really cool to pick them up and compare them to the regular release months later. Sentinels, Dark Stars, a few butterflies, McHenry and Williams, and CQC7's. Someday, I should do a KZfaq video on them because I still have a case of them.

Benchmade 710 absolute must.

Back in the day I had a full-size Darkstar, pre-production run but it vanished about a decade ago. I have since replaced it but not for the original $100 I spent two decades+ ago. The Sentinel is by far my favorite all time knife and about a year ago finally got a second one NIB and passed on my original to my dad.

885 and 960. Brilliant! Those call to me. And to think there is a Darkstar on Rbay now at a ridiculous price of $375.00 or so? It is a silver blade which looks to be in good shape but the markings are faint. The 885 however I have not ever seen one before which is weird because I too collect Benchmades Great collection ! Every time you roll out that 960 - it is impressive. That knife is gorgeous!

I have a 735 Aries with the green and black handle and it’s beautiful. First Benchamade I ever had. Got it from a thrift shop before I even knew what it was, until that point never even heard of Benchmade. Turns out to be a pretty great knife and discontinued as well.

Thanks for the video. Been trying to find any videos on the Benchmade 880BT Dark Star. So far I only came over 1 video in Russian. I see you have the mini version of it here. I'm sure I can find it in someone's Benchmade discontinued knifes video. But don't really feel like digging through tons of videos in hope on finding it. I'm getting it this Friday from a collector unused in the box. It sure looks nice,so I hope it feels good in the hand also. Really like the spear point looking blade on those knifes.

All great designs.. I love that 960..Im just impressed you are collecting the older ones.. The Centafone 4 is real nice too.. I recently picked up a Centafone 3...It's always possible they could get discoed.. Being pinned with back lock and VG10 isn't the most popular thing nowadays but it's a great knife..

Nice collection! I get goofy for the old stuff too. Love the Grips & Minis with the oval holes. Still seeking a full sized Grip in 440C with the oval hole (non-serrated). I have one in 154CM though.

Great video. I went through a similar search for The Kershaw 1775 OD1. I ended up finding one at a thrift store in the South. I had to have a new tip put on it and even though the G10 is worn I love the mechanism and carry the OD1 & OD2 as gentlemen folders in my suits. What I want to get in hand now is a Doug Ritter Griptilian. Do you have a Ritter mini grip?

You should add my rare camo grip to your collection for sure :) also I LOVE the mini rukus... Its a very thick handle but if you don't mind that, its an incredible knife.

I have always liked the look of the mini onslaught but I don’t care for the clip.. not sure if there are any secondary market clip options for that knife?? Great vid man!

Sometimes it is the thrill of the hunt that drives us. Nice collection of discontinued grail knives JT. I know Kershaw will provide a new blade for a nominal cost. Does Benchmade offer something similar with their service program?

I would love to find an affordable Aries as that is my zodiac sign. I agree get it made into a plain blade.

Let me apologize in advance for stating the obvious, have you contacted Benchmade about sharpening or replacing the blade on the Ares 732? I buy used knives for sharpening, repair and re-sell. I recently sent in 5 used Benchmade's for warranty service . They did a great job for free. The warranty also states that blade replacement is $30 for a satin blade and $40 for black.
