The magikarp shift boot isn't cringe. The magikarp boot was hand made by myself to replace the boot that had turned to mummy leather. I couldn't find an OE boot anywhere in the city that wasn't ripped, dry or like $150 so I made one myself. Also I have to say I'm proud of you guys for picking the low hanging fruit and making a vape joke from the foggy WRX picture.

I like the C4, the mid 80s one with the unique manual transmission. Me and a friend towed both a boat and a landscaping trailer with one a lot. My boyfriend and I were going to buy one with a junk engine to build a 6.5 diesel and put in, but we've decided that it's not big enough and doesn't have enough seats for what we want to do. So the new plan is to buy a 1960s-80s GM station wagon of some type and swap in the same 6.5 plus a T56. We want something simple, large space, towing capacity, and specifically a mechanical injection turbodiesel. We were thinking of importing a Renault 21 wagon or early 80s Opel Rekord but those are both getting difficult to find plus importing is kind of difficult. The other option was to find a GM wagon with the 5.7 or 4.3 diesel, they are non turbo but my friend and I have had good luck with them after putting in ARP head studs (not necessary on the 4.3 which has 6 bolts per cylinder). But the wagons are nearly impossible to find at this point, it's all sedans. We will be going with a forged crank Humvee 6.5 with 18:1 compression pistons, S366 turbo, MLS head gaskets, ARP head and main studs, and Peninsular marine injection pump. Should be decently fast as well as get good mileage. Planning on a T56 transmission but a TKX or even a truck transmission like a 2wd ZF6 would not be out of the question if the dashboard and seat configuration allowed for the long shifter.

I daily my C5! works wonderfully. just a bit of a hassle getting into raised areas. but nothing a little 3 wheeling action can't fix :D (on coils too haha, so its pretty stiff, and low too) plenty of trunk space, and if you're like me, and have no kids or any of those kinda responsibilities, works fine as my only car.

@@wilverlima9653 I'm from Illinois, now Florida, definitely lower than your challenger, but its manageable in most places. I road trip the car a lot as well. There are always some places I cant get into. But I plan around that when I can Definitely knowing the area you live in helps at ton

I drive my C5 as much as I can. I have loved my 2010 Civic Si since I bought it new but torque has won me over. You can drive a long geared motor surprisingly similar to revvy little two liter.

My 02 c5 z06 was a great daily driver. Great gas mileage, surprisingly good trunk space, super reliable, never gave me issues until the clutch finally went out. Comfortable. Solid daily.

For several years from late spring to about mid fall, my dad would daily his ‘85 corvette. He drove about 2 hours round trip with it. He said it got great fuel mileage compared to his other two vehicles.

I used to daily my c6 (manual), my bottom front bumper all scratch up. Its fun to drive if u can accept the heavy clutch, but not fun in traffic.

Gas is expensive but c6 z51 is a perfect daily. It even takes bad roads well because its built heavy duty like a pick up, ball joints size of my fist instead of tiny one other brands use on heavier cars. German and exotics feel so much more fragile.

I daily my cammed c5 z06 since I bought it almost two years ago. City mpg sucks but on the freeway gets 25+. Not that it’s what I bought it for anyways 😂 I love it any drive is a fun drive, the torque is nuts. It makes like 300+ ft lbs at 2700 rpm, dyno sheet is somewhere forgot exactly

THIS HURTS MY BRAIN, IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A DAILY BUT ALSO A C5 ZO6, YOU GET THE 2004-2005 CADILLAC CTS V, gm threw an ls6 with a t56 as standard on those bad boys also massive brembos on all 4. i own a 2005 cts v and i freaking love it, it has been the most reliable car ive owned so far, its comfortable, sporty and has 400hp/ft.lbs at your disposal without feeling like a boat in the corners.

The majority of corvettes I see out in the wild are driven by older men that are most likely at least 60 yrs of age or older. Sitting in a vette is like sitting in a car with no seat at all, basically sitting on the floor. It cannot be that bad though if all those older men can get in and out…right??

You guys must be camped out in my bushes. Or maybe the world really does revolve around me. I am keenly interested in selling my 2015 F32 BMW and taking that approximate $20K value and getting either a C5 Z06 or one of the lesser C6 variants. My heart really wants that Z06 for all the reasons that make the Z06 special, however there's one big problem. This is a car that has very likely been driven hard, and an engine that has a reputation for blowing up, particularly at higher mileages. I would be very concerned with a 80K+ mi C5 Z06. Imagine spending $20K on a car, just to have the engine blow up after a few months.

What’s the context of the question in the title? Comfortability and ease of use as a daily goes to a civic hands down. Gas mileage, reliability etc. it’s a Honda. It’s fucking bulletproof. now is it a cooler daily than a vette? Absolutely not. I’d rather own a vette than a civic, but the civic is a damn good car.
