@paulcoover70573 жыл бұрын
@@stonefly69 I know full well the dangerous risks when it comes to football. Have you ever played the game. All I said is I hate the rule. Rules are in place for legal and illegal hits in the game. Targeting is a judgement call. Things happen fast and to determine intent is almost impossible. Players get ejected for things that happen in less than a second. As a young man I was on the receiving end of alot of dirty hits. But it a sport. Why is CTE only attributed to football. What about boxing or mma. No one's calling for changes it their sport. Nfl has it right. Two personal fouls in a game automatically ejected. Takes the guessing and ambiguity out it. If you ever played football then you know that no matter what they do it will never be a safe game.
@stonefly693 жыл бұрын
@@paulcoover7057 CTE is also found in boxers and fighters. It is deadly. In football it comes from players using the crown of their helmets to hit their opponents heads. This is a technique that coaches have been teaching for ages and it needs to stop. Who knows anyone's intent? You get in their mind? The key is the behavior and the actions, and they specifically use slo-mo to watch this - you can do the same. Over and over you will see players target the opponents head with the crown of their helmet. How serious is CTE? Well the NFL offered the Players Union $1 Billion to cover the past damage, but the judge in the case said no, that amount is way too small. ""While we don't yet know the absolute risk of developing CTE among American football players, we now can quantify that each year of play increases the odds of developing CTE by 30 percent," said lead author Jesse Mez, MD, MS, director of the Boston University (BU) Alzheimer's Disease Center Clinical Core and a BU CTE Center Investigator. "We hope that these findings will guide players, family members and physicians in making informed decisions regarding play."" Link: www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/10/191007115239.htm Also: In July 2017, a new study showed that 110 of 111 brains examined showed signs of CTE.[15] Link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NFL_players_with_chronic_traumatic_encephalopathy Football made the rule because of these numbers. It is no joke and you die young (age 40-60).
