Happy New Year 2024 my dear friend 🥳 This was perfect way to bring in the new year. Camping in the woods with a hot fire, Cocoa, coffee, yummy food and cozy tent is perfect. So often my day camps I spend listening to the sounds of nature, breathing in and out talking to the woods. Truly is my place of comfort and therapy as well. Absolutely enjoyed every minute of this camping overnight. Blessings for a healthy 2024 and many more adventures my friend 🤠🌲🍃☕

"Boy i hate it when i miss one of your videos. You look like you had a great time. Have you ever done an overnight camping during a snowstorm? I camped out with my brother on a mountain in N.H. A storm came through while we were hiking Mt.Kearsage. We had plenty of food and wooden matches and built a tent out of branches. Plenty of wood and we kept the fire burning. What a beautiful time we both had sharing stories and hearing nothing but snowflakes hit the leaves on the ground". I stayed in, had Casey's pizza, went to bed early and nope... no resolutions.. your just setting up for disappointment and failures.. just remember to do something new and do something for yourself every month or week... and no judgement on the greenery... it helps to relax, calm the anxiety, and nothing better than a nice beverage, a smoke, a campfire, and moon and stars.... im looking forward to more videos.. and getting out myself.. i have an interview i did on another channel after that is out i will do a video of it on my channel...

I admire your bravery even though you mention being a little nervous. I have never wild camped but I fantasize about it. I would be very nervous. Now I'm 77 and not as strong as when I was younger. I live in the woods and we often have deer, bear, fox, raccoons, a badger once, bald eagles and some more rare animals. I enjoy most camping shows so live vicariously I guess. Just a tip for you: I don't hear you some of the time Very interesting to watch you demonstrate the new products available. Have fun with your adventures and good luck. Breakfast Skillet is one of my favorite dehydrated camping meals. I actually prefer the Mountain House version of Breakfast Skillet to the Peak Refuel. You can't go wrong with breakfast for dinner! Long dark nights in the woods are always better with Green, Beer, and a Radio. I'm glad you had a great wild camp. Can't think of a better way to spend New Year's. Wishing you a prosperous 2024! Edit to add: that REI in Hingham is a dangerous place. I have to restrain myself and maintain an iron grip on my wallet, otherwise I would buy like half the store, lol!

Hey Marlo! I really like the Dragoon tent! When the cost of those tent pegs is considered, the tent is very reasonably priced. The room in it is a huge plus for me. I also really like the little air pump. I like multi-function items over a single function. It sure does beat foot pumps! I've been on the business end of those many times and they're not fun! I like the camping too. While I really enjoy your camping videos, I really enjoy seeing the products you showcase. A lot of amazing things out there now! I'm not one to make resolutions either. I noticed your stove really flamed up right when you started talking about goal-setting! It looked like a blow-torch! 😆 This year, I plan to try to do more urbex even though places to go have become limited. I have an old house spotted right by a highway I'm going to check out, hopefully soon. The Retromantic has some locations up her way that we can check out. I've loved urbex since my dad used to take my mother and I to abandoned places he found while I was growing up. I added railfanning to my repertoire which also goes back to when I was a kid. I found I enjoy it more than I thought I would and there's also a lot to it! Much more than just watching passing trains! I'm still going to do outdoor content which will include wild camping. The national forest I used to frequent added a whole new meaning to the term "wild camping!" An adjoining park started leaving their gates open all night to accommodate late check-ins at the lodge, and people started running through the national forest literally all night long and were typically drunk and probably otherwise impaired. It was also not unusual to not be able to find a place to camp as there were always a number of people camping any given day of the week. I was even advised by a local that if I camped there to always carry. 😬Over recent months though I haven't seen a single tent back there and just an occasional Jeep, so I think it'll be a lot better there than when I used to go often. Like you, here's some completely random stuff that doesn't have anything to do with anything! At about 37:35, before you adjusted your camera light, the tie line on the end of the tent lit up like a rope light. Cool effect! #imanerd 😆 This was a great video and I enjoyed it very much! Your videos really whet my appetite to go, and I can't wait to get back to it. After eight months of pure misery from late 2022 to August 2023 in which I was barely able to take care of myself, I finally have my health back. An event like that really brings to the forefront of how much we have when we have good health. It's really taken for granted by most. I know I have a much greater appreciation of it and the ability to once again be able to do simple things. You're right, when you don't have your health you don't have anything. This was indeed a great way to spend New Year's Eve! Even though I've enjoyed a New Year's Eve party or two in the past, this has them all beat. Good for you. I enjoyed watching your video. I myself took a few days off the road as a OTR driver and took some time to decompress off the grid in the woods of AZ. 3 days away from everyone and everything just before the new years. I have tried to do this once to two times a year for myself. It’s great for your mind body and soul. Plus fresh coffee in the woods is great.

I love dispersed camping. Weather it be hiking in or getting way out there on my ATV. Your doing a great job. I just found your channel and am enjoying catching up. You have to get yourself a head lamp.

Cool way to see in the new year, here's hoping for an awesome 2024. Thanks for sharing your fun trip. Things to do in the woods? You might enjoy trying your hand at whittling or more serious wood carving? Maybe a spatula, spoon, or even a kuksa (cup), I've yet to try the wood spirit/wizard carving but plan to soon. Please make sure you have a small medkit/cut-trauma kit on you if playing with carving stuff alone in the woods.

Hi Marlo.... what a lovely way to spend New Year! I was asleep when New Year happened, I really don't do anything these days. Strangely felt like hiding away for a few weeks, a small lull in mood coming into the New Year. I don't do NY resolutions either. I like to trust the journey and see where it takes me these days. I do hope 2024 is your best year yet.
