Yeah, that was my thought as well. I bought the Space Marine: The Board Game mainly for the Titus miniature, and this one mainly for the Ambull and UR-205.

It's out of stock at the Barnes and Noble online store (at least in the states). Hopefully they'll get it back in stock?

Yeah, that's insane - GW and their retail partners really do need to work harder on cracking down on scalpers.

It's technically designed for 2 players, but I guess you could try it solo? Sort of like playing chess solo, I'd imagine.

Is this a real question? The extra effort to prepaint minis would surely offset the low entry price for a set like this one. GW is above all a premium miniature manufacturer, their studio painting standards could in no way be replicated in a mass produced game with prepainted minis and they definitely would not like the public to have a notion of subpar official paintjobs associated with their brand. Plus, the fact that the minis would also have to be pre-assembled is no easy extra step. For regular board games with 1-piece, low detail minis it makes sense to have them prepainted, but for GW it is against the whole point of their business strategy. People will still buy into these boxes thanks to the “low” price and “high” value.

@@JohnnyLeyenda it was a real question, thanks for the answer. all I’m saying is that if these were just detailed enough to be fun to look at then I’m sure more people would be enticed to play, especially if the cost of minis was at a fair price point. and I’m not saying every box, but let’s say you just need 10 units (of whatever) but don’t have the time or patience to paint them for the day you plan on playing, then you have that opportunity to buy those 10 units. it doesn’t even have to be every unit, but like just base line infantry for each faction. my point is that it could work, I’m sure there are a plethora amount of people like me who would love to play just casual games but choose not to buy the minis because of how bad they are at painting. all I’m saying is it’s an idea to make money from people like me.
