I've been watching these videos of real live military action. Completely life changing. I never understood, and probably still don't, the sheer intensity of real war. I, along with most people, do not have the emotional control to be a soldier. These videos are terrifying. I have a new found respect for soldiers, regardless of who they are fighting for.

I'm an Army vet and all i have to say is i respect the Marines. Every Marine is infantry capable where as the Army its only a small group. I was in 4 firefights and once our base was overun but this was over 3 deployments. I couldnt imagine having to do it day in and day out

its actually not such a foolish decision, i was a troubled kid who barely graduated highschool and really couldnt cut it in college, so i enlisted with the marines and so far they have done me right and acctepted me so i may now have a future with my self and my family

i thought mortars only did 60 damage

I'm so proud of our soldiers.. so professional.

My father in law was a 101st Army Ranger in the operation of Iraqi Freedom and they were in Kuwait when they were traveling down a back alley and their humvee drove over a mine (not sure what kind and dont want to say the wrong thing) killing the driver and passenger while him and 4 others were thrown off the back. He suffered a double Patellar fracture and was sent home. He has not been treated well by the VA and cannot get knee replacements until retirement. This was in 04' if im not mistaken, and still has not had knee replacements. He was in the VA a few weeks ago and due to burn pits he is now officially 100% disability. But he owns his own web design and despite his issues standing for a while or walking for a while he still has figured out to be a good dad and a great father in law. Wish our veterans got treated better

you did good jobs... as a soldier who served in the IDF for 3 years ...it upsets me when i come across ungrateful civilians. anyways thats part of the job.... take care and keep safe

My M4 served me very well (3BCT 1ID, OEF 8-9), My fellow team leader carried an M14, large, heavy, in addition to a full load out it makes for an uncomfortable hump through rough terrain...All things considered the modern M4 is a very capable system out to 500 meters in the hands of a trained infantryman, and saves a lot of weight...there's a reason for everything, let's not go off half-cocked making incoherent comments without being knowledgeable about the subject at hand.

Secondaries mean 2 things... The main charge of an IED is called the primary. A lot of times there are smaller IED's or anti-personnel mines around it. Those are called SECONDARIES. Secondaries are also any additional explosions after a main explosion. Example: a SMAW is fired into a bunker, the rocket is the first/main explosion and any ammo that cooks off would be called a secondary
