Come to meditation freshly, innocently | J. Krishnamurti
Extract from the seventh public talk in Saanen, 1978.
---
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

This Is really meditation. Krishnamurti non è un guru ne un mistico ne un Mahatma ne un filosofo. Krishnamurti è un liberatore. Lui insegna cos'è la vera meditazione.

There was a time when Krishnamurti did not know any of the things he talks about. He had to discover everything himself. The revolutionary aspect of Krishnamurti is that he did not fit his discoveries into the framework of accepted Authority. Each of us has to make our own discovery. There is no shortcut. But Krishnamurti has given us a sense of the 'dynamics' of discovery. My contribution to understanding this dynamic is : Discover the meaning of 'Observation without the Observer' This is the first fundamental dynamic that unlocks all further revelation. It is the dynamic that calms the mind. The calmed mind will pick up the hints and subtleties that bring further discovery. Note: there is nothing you can do to coerce yourself into understanding. You have to give up 'trying' to understand. All ulterior motives have to end. Because they will distort what you see. What you observe now, when ulterior motives come to an end is called the Truth. The Truth will set you free. It is maturity that gives up, not weakness. So toughen up (don't be a victim of self pity and don't puff yourself up) - - - this is maturity. With good luck you will discover 'Observation without the Observer'. If you do, then the real maturity begins. Because such Observation sees your problems with clarity (Truth). You will not linger in pain or shame (because these things will also be seen clearly). This is calming. Anxiety disappears. You can still be sad but it doesn't morph into self pity. You can even meditate on your problems - in such a way that they are no longer problems - - but are seen as life itself, in all its shades of light and dark.

Nice video. Yes true “……like a child - fresh, innocent, curious…..” Truly yes - Hindu saying - if you want to fill your pot with drinking water, let your pot be empty, clean and right side up. BUT, Process is also important. A child might like to learn to write lying on his back and his feet on the air, but the teacher will not allow it because she knows the child might take forever to learn to write that way. “Measurement is Illusion - to find the immeasurable, the mind must be free of measure.” - Yes ! AND, Ancient Indians also gave importance to “Experience” (actually termed “Non Indirect Experience”). In fact they gave it the most importance over Sensory Perception (Direct) and Inference (Indirect), because the latter two are dependent on corruptible instruments of senses and mind. Direct experience means independent of these, and hence gives more clarity. The term Non Indirect Experience is specifically used to contrast it with the Direct Sensing and Indirect Inference. The Indian way of thought has 2 major aspects to it - “Discernment” and “Dispassion”. Especially Advaita vision is arrived at via logic, but with a strong backing of these two. Hinduism view of non measurement is more like a state you reach, but yet you do use measurement to reach that state. They clearly prescribe it this way - “use the thorn of knowledge to pull out the thorn of ignorance from your body, and then you have to toss away the thorn of knowledge too, it is not meant to be left inside your body”. I guess what JK means by Attention is what no dual Hindu sages meant by Witness Consciousness. Then things fall in place neatly. “…deep understanding - not intellectual….” Yes!.... When there is no centre …the mind is completely quiet….”. Practicing to “quiet the mind” is the way of Yoga. In the way of Advaita, it is to understand by discernment, the true nature of mind (keeping it in its right place, in order, not preventing it), as an object to the subject Witness, and to be Dispassionate about the mind, and true “Experience” will happen of the Absolute Reality. (But a process is prescribed for it, or you can get lost in the search). “The ending of the self “ is an archaic expression from the beginning when people started to explain Hinduism to the west, which creates some confusions. Gurus better explain it as the ending of the “Identity”, so the True “Self” can be recognized as The Subject which is not different from The Absolute. Very nice closing statements - “It will come to you without invitation, you cannot invite it” There is no path to the truth, there is no any thing between you and the truth (when you are the Absolute, where is there to go to find it? ). That is ecstasy - Hinduism call it “Anandam” The Blissful state of neither joy or sorrow, nor pain/pleasure…etc… . Non Duality.

The very 'idea' or 'doing' meditation prevents one from approaching it freshly, innocently. The 'doer' of meditation with his systems, practices, conclusions and efforts actually corrupts meditation. Corruption being to break things apart,to fragment, to degenerate. To meditate is to gather total energy, the operation of the whole of the brain, to come upon something that is timeless, original and pristine. Without dissolving the ego, the self, the 'me' ; it is not possible to have an open entry into the world of meditation. To meditate is to be aware of eternity!!!

But one thing am not getting Awareness is ok to be aware of surroundings, but concentration is the energy which we put into something but it also creates centre that is it might lead to illusion bcz concentration can be disturbed unlike attention where there is no centre, .. It means concentration leads to illusion, self centred activity, .. Plz correct me on this point

@@Avonbarksdaleable It's the same strategy they do to destroy Buddhism. Nowadays nobody actually read what Buddha said in Asia. They just worship him. Those manipulated minds are actually intentional: If the influence is too big to slander, they turn it to a “good” image instead. The outcome is the same: neutralization of knowledge.
