What the audience doesn’t realize - the genius of Louie Anderson - he is taking them through a group counseling session because so many can relate to what he is saying. He is telling them, ‘we can make it through this together, I’m with you’ with an innate love for others. RIP Louie

Spot on, Doc. So much of what we hear these days is basically "if your family mistreats you, cut them loose." I think more people should listen to Louie and try to find a way to love their family and accept them if you can. Imperfect love is often better than no love at all.

My pop was a WW2 vet. I can remember many nights that my dad woke up screaming " incoming..incoming" along with calling his men's names. Yet, i had a perfect and happy childhood. I was infinitely blessed. I married a man from a large family with a horrible father who was never in the military. I could NEVER understand how his kids defended him and mourned at his funeral. I refused to go and be a hypocrite. After listening to his narration of this story and his closing statement...i began to understand a little of my husband's feelings for his dad. Thank you and may you be held in the arms of angels for all the laughter and love you gave to others.

Didn't know what it was? It's called LOVE! Love protects, it's the first thing it does among many. He said it at the end. "Forgive your father's he didn't mean it." Louie loved his dad you can hear it in his voice. God bless you Louie! Never stop forgiving. Everyone! It's all we have that truly heals.

From St Paul, lived through many winters, I know plenty about the moose lodge etc etc... his stories bring back great memories. Not always great ones at the time, but treasured ones for sure! Love you Louis ❤️

Louie is one of the most underrated, kind of cerebral old skool comics from the 80's that's still relevant......he is just funny, but also pretty weird which is just awesome.

The story didn't have a lot of punchlines, it was just really engaging and humorous. They seemed into his story, but you are right they weren't laughing much.

the laughing just made him look bad, because it made it look like he needed the fake laughter, but it just made it all awkward and uncomfortable, his story is great why bother underlining that for cheap laughs

This made me cry, and not from laughter. So glad that I never had children, I'd be Louie's dad for sure. But hey, that adversity created an incredible comedian, and an amazingly kind soul, so at least some good came out of it. Peace and love, Louie.

My sister saw Louie Anderson in Vegas, said she he was really funny on stage. Lucky sis, she also got to see Dana Carvey in Vegas some years later...said she had tears in eyes from laughing so hard. Dana Carvey’s son got on stage after him, she said he was really funny too. I googled and found out both his sons do stand up. So maybe watch them next on KZfaq 😁 Party on, Garth.
