I did not expect this to end with a wholesome community book club. As someone who works in a library, I am so hype to see a Creator promoting reading. If your book club members can't afford to buy the book, tell them to reach out to their local library. The vast majority of libraries in the US are free, and some will even buy extra copies of a specific book if they know people will be looking for it. I plan to give my collection department a heads up to add this book as I'm sure we'll have people asking for it in the next few weeks. Our tax dollars go to these libraries, so please take advantage of their resources. If we don't, a lot of low income people will lose these critical resources when libraries close down. You and your mom are doing a great thing!

It would promote literacy and then the left over books could be placed in the little library sites or donated (I know those in the Appalachian could use it) once you've moved onto another book in the book club. You dressed as a maid is the best thing I've seen all week. Brings nostalgia from a server I was in where a bunch of dudes were just dressing as maids and wearing cat ears and that while playing some video games or watching anime... Thigh high stockings and all. Looking back on it, it sounds pretty odd now. In the moment it was shared laughter and we just kept it going though. Miss them dudes like crazy, they were like a second family to me.

My thought process for the longest time was "I don't get why Discord has such a bad reputation. It's just a better Skype". Then I was exposed to public Discord servers

I had a discord server for a game I ran a guild in, it was needed to coordinate so it was fun at first, but the guild got bigger, the people got weirder to the point where I just did not want anything to do with any of it anymore. I gave over the server and guild to someone else and it entirely put me off that game as well as discord. Honestly, people can make you lose faith in humanity.

I was notified the moment the server relaunched. Chat was so freaked out about how freaked out everyone that chat had to be slowed way down to keep up. I don't discord well, I'm too old, -acording to someone in chat im not, i just don't discord well- I'm trying to embrace my inner boy in a wholesome way, hopefully the server won't feel as intimidate me as much now. Yeah, I used to have a huge server as well. I can relate with this, so I deleted it and then narrowed the server down to 50 trusted people that were fans of my stories. Closed server. The amount of people that make accounts just to scam people through DMs, or creep on kids. It was bad. I see a lot of people from the official terraria server using the server to get in contact with people to try and scam them.

Smelly discord owner here. Honestly, discord was straight up nothing but stress for me for a couple of years. I do a lot of roleplay (not that weird NSFW stuff, I just like writing neat stories with friends), and the roleplay community is FULL of just so many different types and subgroups of horrible, horrible people. If anyone reading this is running a roleplay server (or any kind of server, actually), I STRONGLY recommend setting up some method of ID verification that members have to go through before joining your community! I was shocked at just how much of a difference this made in terms of the amount of fun I and everyone else was having, and how drama-free and non-toxic the server became. I honestly don’t know why I felt the need to type all of this out, but I hope it helps someone :)
