Commissioned to make a LAPD badge as a retirement present. Carved on

I was asked to make a 3D badge, which was going to be a retirement present for someone. The wood I used was sapele. Two bit carved with was a TBN bit for the 3D portion, then 1/4 down cut end mill for the profile cut. Finished with tung oil, enjoy!

Great job! People who have never used a CNC don't understand that it isn't just pressing a button. It takes time, talent, knowledge, and lots and lots of practice to get to this point.

I really appreciate your kind words! I’m a total rock when it comes to learning. I definitely have broke bits and ruined good pieces of wood. I’m sure you are a lot smarter than I am. YT university definitely taught me a lot.

Well, I've managed to lower a spinning cutter into my BitZero device and destroyed several nice pieces of wood on my way to making a shop sign and a simple drop tray. There will be party when I produce something like your badge. Keep up the good work. Congratulations on your commission.@@encarwoodworking

@@encarwoodworking Yes, he liked it! He thought that it was going to be 2d like others he had seen but I wanted it to be 3d. I also chose Walnut. It has to be my favorite wood.
